“Fun and Food at McGuires”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

We ate here twice in February, once for lunch and once for dinner. We eat here each time we visit Destin, because of the food quality and the fun atmosphere. The bean soup is only 18 cents a bowl, as long as you order something else. The soup is great, but it does fill you up. I always end up taking some of my food home. They did have some vegetarian choices, also. Lots of stuff to look at on the walls while you are waiting for your food. Staff is trained and are helpful and efficient. This place is always busy. Minor complaint--lighting is very dim, so reading the menu can be challenging. Also, a lot of steps. My daughter was on crutches, but they found us a booth with just one step. Warning: Look carefully at the restroom door signage before you enter. This is a great place.

“Only Two McGuire's Irish Pubs Exist ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

According to friends I visited in Destin, there are only two McGuire's Irish Pub restaurants and they are both in Florida (Destin & Pensacola respectively). Visited McGuire's from recommendations of local community and loved it. It has the main restaurant, plenty of bar space, and a gift shop with o'plenty of things to be enticed by. They have their own Irish beer brewed there. The food was certainly great. I ordered the steak; it took less than 20 minutes for the 3 of us to be served. Tasted great, with some onion rings and fries. The friends ordered a famous drink "the Irish Wake" served in souvenir jars that we took back with us. Visited the gift shop which had tons of Irish-related things and wear to choose from. The personnel were professional and at the same time Candid - good mix which one can easily find in a genuine Irish atmosphere such as this. If I visit Destin or Pensacola again - this place must be included in the trip.

“McGuire's is a Top Notch Place to Eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

I see most of the other reviews here give McGuire's Irish Pub in Destin Florida a high rating. I couldn't agree more. We have visited twice on this years snowbird stay and both times in a party of six, all of us were impressed with the excellent quality and quantity of the food. I am a "fish & chips" person, and this is the best I have had in all of Florida during four years of coming here. Others in our group were similarly satisfied with their food choices.

Quality, quantity and value can't be beat in this area.

Service is always very good and personal. On our last visit Victoria was very pleasant and caring, and was detailed in her description of the great variety of food items available. Her continuous attention was appreciated.

As other reviews indicate, decor is lots of dollar bills hanging everywhere, along with many items of old, with some TVs here and there. Lighting is a little on the dim side, but adds to the pub type atmosphere. Because of the high quality and good service, this place is very busy all the time. If I had to pick a negative, it would be the parking spaces that are very very narrow, obviously designed to accommodate as many vehicles as possible. If you have a full size vehicle, it will barely fit between the lines making it difficult to exit and enter.

Destin is a popular shopping spot. If you are visiting there, or passing through, this is the place to eat.

“Tongue in Cheek Irish Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Great place lively atmosphere . Try cocktails. Steaks are best ever. If you're Irish you would not identify it as being Irish as there is nothing Irish about it. Lots of fake Irish memorabelia on the walls but so long as you experience it as a bit of fun it's great. Quirky one dollar bills hanging everywhere. You can place one before you leave one walls or ceiling before you leave.
A little cheesy but food it fabulous and service excellent so somewhere a little different to go.
