“Beautiful View of the Beach - Condo #1503”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

We enjoyed our trip to Destin very much, even though the weather was not at its best. Our condo #1503 had a spectacular view. We had everything we needed for cooking and cleaning. The unit was well cleaned, excluding one shower curtain. It needed a little updating in the kitchen and bathroom, but we didn't mind because we didn't come to spend time in the kitchen. The only real problem was that the window locks in the master bedroom were broken, so we could not open the window. Still, the condo was large and comfortably fit 4 people. It could hold more easily. We had multiple TVs in the unit, plus a DVD player for moments of bad weather.

We were given several coupons and freebies for things around town, which we used. I did not know that they came with the room, so that was a nice feature. Our free parasailing trip was awesome. Our free beach chairs and umbrella were also excellent. We used them every day. The food in the area was great and we were less than a mile away from the outlet mall.

Even if this condo could be updated, we would go back in a heart-beat.

we stayed at Hidden Dunes, apt 606 on the 6th floor, I left a review on their website and no one posted it, after 10 calls to them no one knows the TAT for reviews or anything and their customer service is a joke so I am posting this here. Everything was wrong, I wanted ocean front so we could hear, see and smell the ocean. The screen door was just sitting inside of the condo and it was broken. After calling maintenance they could not fix it so I ended up placing the door on it's side inside of the condo so that i could have the main door open, however the latch and lock on the main door to the patio was also broke, there was no screen door from the master bedroom to the patio and the window was also broken in the master. The dryer broke while we were there and the place was not cleaned nor has it been in months (beer cans in the trash can in the bathroom, the place had an inch of dust everywhere). I need doors and locks to work as we were on the 6th floor and i had my 3 babies with me, my youngest being one and she would definitely have been able to squeeze herself through the balcony banister - not a good situation so i needed to be able to lock a screen door, i really did not want to spend my vacation with the patio door shut the entire time.

Wow! What a great experience! First time in Florida and booked this resort because of trip advisor. We stayed in a cottage and it quickly became a second home. We were close to the beach walk over and it took less than a couple of minutes to walk to the beach. We had one issue, our ac went out, but maintenance was called and it was quickly resolved. They even came by a second time just go make sure it was still working correctly. The area was quiet, but still super close to all activities! I'm looking forward to making this a family tradition!

In January of 2013 we booked our condos for our family vacation in August. We were returning for a second time and brought our family this time. We had a total of 5 UNITS! Three were purposely in a row on the first floor so family could put little ones down and gather on the patio but stay close- also the first floor would be better for the smaller ones since there was not a balcony. We called in a few weeks before to confirm and nothing was spoken of any changes. A few hours before our arrival we called to get the code and we were told our unit was now on the 13th floor and another was moved to the 3rd floor! I was upset and they were very unkind and unpleasant spouting off the fine print telling us they could move our condo and that they were still the best resort group in Destin. The unprofessionalism was just aweful and it got worse. The condo we booked was renovated, clean, granite, remodeled kitchen and bath. The unit we had upon arrival was dirty, nothing in the kitchen or bath had ever been touched, doors falling off, pots and pans without handles, grime on the floors, one bedroom had no lamps or lights so we had to borrow one from another room... We stayed because our family was there but it dampened our spirits after driving 16 hours. Please be aware that what you book with resorts realty is not a guarantee, they may just give you the left over room that never gets used.

My husband first booked us into this resort as a last minute save when the SanDestin Hilton was sold out. That was 18 years ago, even before he was my husband. Hidden Dunes has since been my first choice for the Gulf. As we travel frequently, my minimal criteria is 1) clean and in good repair, 2) non-smoking, and 3) must be free of pests and odors. HD always meets or exceeds my criteria. Over the years, we have probably stayed in 7 - 8 different units, all in the Cottage section. I don't require beach front, and am not a high rise girl, as the cottages with the bigger pool and charming fountain lined walkways are far superior to the Villas or high rise units. My 14 yr old daughter learned to walk on this beach, learned to swim in the cottage pool, and has fond memories of the shuttle drivers and their welcoming attitudes. We have taken various friends and family members to HD over the years, and have never had any regrets. DO NOT MISS Lillie's Q, across the street, (best BBQ in the panhandle), and feed, or tip, the HIBS crew who rent the chair/umbrella set-ups. Mike from HIBS always is glad to see us and remembers us from year to year.Miss Kell, with the rental office, is pleasant and efficient. Keep in mind that as these units are all privately owned, they differ greatly in style and decor. Take advantage of the video and picture features of their website, to be better informed. The location is great, the beach is not mobbed and has room to stretch out, is very close to The Silver Sands outlets, Destin Commons, many gulf side restaurants, and grocery stores. Unless you require posh surroundings, Hidden Dunes will not disappoint.

While shopping for your place on VRBO or the like you will see the pics of blue couches, That is the place. We had a great time. It is an older property so reviews saying select carefully are accurate. If no updates were made you could be walking into 1993. Hunter green leather couches and Nagel framed prints etc. But OUR unit was great. New renovations and appliances. A typical standard well kept VRBO property. It however lists on ResortQuest as well. The balcony is great and the view is awesome. No golf on site for the golfers but you are near quite a few including Regatta Bay and Sandestin. Beach was typical Destin greatness. Large groups and kids will find things tricky. There are better pools out there and the hot tub is TINY. Parking in the tower is a strict 2 car limit per unit. And you may still not get in. Also the garage was made for late 80's-early 90's cars. So best of luck with your Expedition or Excursion. Plenty of great choices for Destin. And this is another one.

Room Tip: My room tip was listed in title. 1704 or 1706.

We booked our condo thru Wyndham Vacation Rentals! We had no problems with them nor did we have any with the condo unit. We stayed on the 4th floor, rm# 0404! Best view of the ocean I think and best floor level becuse we didn't have to ride the elevator long plus the room was right across from it, too! The condo was well cleaned and spacious! Best part is the condo sits right on the beach and not too far above the pool that I could monitor my kids from the deck. This was our first trip to Destin and we would def revisit and stay at this condo again!! We went week of 7/7/13 - 7/13/13. We had two families so we splited the cost of the condo cost!! We had a blast!!!
