“Gorgeous Beach and Accomodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

The beaches are beautiful white sand. Nice fire pit to sit outside and enjoy the setting sun. Rooms are very large and can accommodate families easily. Very helpful staff. Only complaint is that my room backed to the elevator and I could hear it going up and down all night long. ;(

Room Tip: Choose a room that doesn't back to the elevators!

Lots of improvements, remodeling, we have all appreciated just how much work they put into this place in the past year. This is our family's 6th straight year here and it's easily the best. For a family of 4, the Jr Suite w bunk beds is just perfect.

I checked in for a conference that was held in one of the hotel's conference rooms. There was the standard crush of people all waiting to check in at the same time. The staff manned the check-in desk nicely, and the line moved very quickly. The conference room was clean and water, cups, notepads, and pens were always available. We had ordered buffet-style meals outside of the conference room, following the talks, and it was always ready on time. It was, also, cleaned up on time. If you're in charge of the talks, make sure your people keep an eye on their watches. During free time, the beach is outside the back door. Bring your beach chairs, blanket, and cooler. Don't forget the sunscreen. There is also some very nice shopping at the Destin Commons Shopping Center. It was a great place for the weekend's conference. I'll look forward to the next opportunity to visit.

This is a beautiful property with all the amenities you could ask for! Beautiful white beach, several pools, fabulous food! Great vacation spot as well as business hotel. The room was wonderful with comfy bed, sitting area, fridge, microwave and two seperate dressing areas! This was a business trip for me. The meeting rooms were huge and the service was great!

Room Tip: Ask for a beach view room with a balcony.

Recently stayed at the Hilton Sandestin for a conference. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Upon check-in, I received a free room upgrade to a full beach view in the spa tower. Become a Hilton Rewards Member. It's worth it. The staff is very courteous and always greets you. The room was clean and had a great view.
Great hotel for families. They offer rooms with bunk beds. There is a kiddy pool as well as two other large pools.
The spa and gym are nice. The spa, although slightly overpriced, they offer a variety of services. There is a Massage Envy 15 min down the road at a fraction of the price and have quality treatments. The gym is clean and an ample amount of cardio equipment but few weight machines. There are free weights.
With the exception of Seagars and Hadashi, the restaurants were a disappointment. Limited menu with bland food and the staff although pleasant were not knowledgeable and very disorganized. The patio bar closes too early and does not serve dinner which is a shame. It has a great atmosphere. Seagars has wonderful steaks and attentive staff. Would def return. Hadashi had high quality sashimi. Very impressed,
The beach was clean and beautiful. If you don't want to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas be sure to bring your own.
Enjoyable trip and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Beach view Spa Tower. Request higher floors to minimize pool noise

We visited this property in October 2012 and were unhappy. We decided to give them another try now that we were prepared for a property that is not motorcycle friendly. We arrived early afternoon, parked our motorcycle and trailer, and called for the shuttle van to pick us up and take us across the street to the property. The driver was prompt, helpful, and courteous. Check-in was no problem. Room and view was as presented and comfortable. The resort staff shuttled us back and forth to our motorcycle each and every time we needed them too. We enjoyed the stay but wish the Starbucks stayed open at regular hours but definitely no "show stopper". Would be glad to stay again. Price and points as a Hilton Honors member was very reasonable.

The Hilton Sandestin is a beach resort with everything you need. It has a prime location on the beach, two outdoor pools and one indoor, two jacuzzis, one inside and one outside and six different dining options. It has full service spa and a gym. It's located in Sandestin so there are tons of restaurant and shopping options nearby as well as golf courses a short walk or drive away.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the 7th floor overlooking the pool area with a great view of the ocean. The room was spacious with a king bed, a sleeper sofa, small table and chairs, mid sized refrigerator and microwave. A few other reviewers have noted the hotel is tired. Yes the bathrooms could be updated, but other than a couple of chipped tiles the room and the common areas are in great shape and there was nothing that detracted from our stay.

Had breakfast each day in Sandcastles, the main dining area. Continental breakfast was included in our room rate and did that about half the stay. The other half I upgraded to the hot breakfast for a reasonable $7.00 upcharge. For those complaining about that get over it. The continental is great. lt comes with a lot and for lighter or healthier eaters is a great option. Lots of cereals, pastries, breads, yogurts and oatmeal. The hot breakfast includes made to order omelettes, waffles, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The chef does a real nice job on busy mornings cooking everyone's omelettes. All I had tasted great. You can also use your breakfast voucher in the Starbuck's coffee shop too if you want.

Didn't eat at any of the other choices as we went off property for dinners. Great restaurants we tried and reviewed separately are Mitchell's Fish Market, Marina Cafe, Gafitti & Funky Blues Shack, Cuvee Bistro, Dewey Destin's Harborside, Tommy Bahama and The Shrimp Shack.
Had some great single serving desserts at Publix too. It's a little cheaper than ordering dessert at dinner and they have lots of great options.

For recreation we rented bikes at Big Daddy's Bike shop along 30A and they were super friendly and helpful picking out the right bikes for us.

Spent a few nights searching for sand crabs so bring a flashlight or two if you'd like to do that. Went the last few days of April and early May. Busy on the weekend and quiet during the week. The ocean was a little chilly at first, but comfortable once you were in it for a minute and the waves are a blast. Never had to wait for a table at any of the restaurants we tried.

All in all a great place to have a relaxing beach vacation. A little pricey, but well worth the location, facilities and friendly staff. Would definitiely return to the Hilton Sandestin.
