“New Year's Eve Horror”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

A group of 16 of us booked reservations for New Year's Eve 2012. We were promised the upstairs room to share with another reservation for 15. We could use the room to dance, it had a separate bar, and balcony to watch the fireworks. Price $69.99 per person. Very slow service since there were only 2 waiters. The appetizer was 2 plates of stuffed mushrooms for 16 people! The salad was drowned in dressing and wilted. The entree I ordered was a filet mignon - what came was a mystery meat in very thin purple slices (I ordered medium rare) and loaded with so much meat tenderizer it was in strings. They also put loads of pepper on it to cover up the salty tenderizer taste. Others said their grouper and pasta dishes were so bland they had no taste at all. The dessert was bread pudding which was so small it was barely 2 bites; and not bread pudding! Right after our entrees were served the flood gates opened and the room was filled with people coming in from outside in the village to get drinks at the bar. No longer a room to dance or even talk without screaming, we decided to skip the midnight champagne and left. No one in our group will ever go back. To add insult to injury, they added their own tips to the bills. It was a terrible experience for what we had hoped would be a memorable night.

Love this place! Wife and I had the shrimp and scallops and cedar plank salmon which was so good we had to share. Best I've had anywhere. Our server Karin was fantastic. Head over to the bar at9pm for drink special and great band. Price is very reasonable. Cannot wait to come back.

“Great Food very Poor Service.......”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

Me and a Friend were in destin for her birthday and wanted a nice place to dine on our first night there.Got to the place they sit us at the back close to the kitchen, took 10mins to come get our drink and appertizer order.Than it took another 20mins to come out. After we ate our Apps and Bread it was about another 20 to 30 mins before our meal came out.The Food was Awesome but myself and Friend felt that the service was very poor and also that our waitress was Not friendly at all ,We felt that she was being very fake with her KINDNESS(something that was very forced). After dinner they had a band in town from New orleans which we had read on the sign before going in, Through out the evening we watched our waitress tell other patrons about the band and that it was free with dinner and how they should come back later that night to hear them. She never mention the band never ask us to come back to hear them SMH.Of course this Sadden me and my friend because we were in destin to have a Good time.Could it have been because we were 2 Lesbian African American Women Hmmmmmm .who knows. This is Unfortunate You would think in the year 2012 you would TREAT all Customers With the same level of Respect.....

To Our Valued Customers: First, I would like to apologize for the delay you experienced on Dec, 19th. We strive for "Perfection" for all our customers. As far as experiencing "fake" friendliness from our server, I can assure you that She is not fake. She is always friendly and bubbly with everyone that walks through the door, that is why she is our most requested server.
We have created a warm and happy atmosphere in our restaurant with fun and whimsical folk and outsider art adorning our walls, positive musical lyrics are placed in every nook and cranny along the restaurant inviting our guests to laugh and enjoy. Our staff is composed of ALL diverse backgrounds.
If your experience was negative,it was perhaps due to personality, not discrimination.
I can assure you that we would NOT tolerate such behavior in our establishment. We pride ourselves on being open to ALL that walk through our doors and strive to give each and every customer an unforgettable experience.
Sincerely, Chuck and Carmen Stiles

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012 via mobile

This is our second time here and I'll tell what, the food is amazing. The crab cakes with wilted spinach are phenomenal, cedar planked salmon with mango salsa is the best salmon I've ever had. If I could rate our service 10 stars, this is how much I would give for it, Karin.... You are the best server ever.
