“Funky Local Color”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

Make no mistake - this is not a corporate chain. We walked in to the sounds of a band playing "Third Rate Romance Low Rent Rendezvous", which could be their theme song. The dining area is about the size of a Motel 6 room, so you get to meet your neighboring diners up close. The servers are friendly and aren't too busy to chat awhile. We heard that the Bang Me Shrimp were good, so that's what we ordered. They were good, lightly battered, with a price tag of $11.95, which is a little pricey for an appetizer (but everything on the harbor is overpriced). I also had a cup of gumbo and I wish I had ordered a bowl. The gumbo was among the best I've ever had. So if you want true local color and decent food (where wine is served in plastic cups) look no further.

“Save Your Money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

I wass looking for oysters on the half shell. They wanted $14 a dz fro theirs. I found them up the coast at Hurricanes for $9 and only $6 during their happy hour. Look for brochers at your hotel for the Hurricane bar, just off Hwy 3A

“Funky”

This is the real deal. If you like the vibe of Jimmy Buffet but hate the commercialization, this is the place. Oysters are the best in Destin, gumbo, atmosphere is authentic.

“Great food, Rustic Bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

My wife and I had a great time here. The food was very good and we did not even get their specialty, oysters. The fried mahi sandwich is very good. This is definitely a dive of an oyster bar. The service was good. Met some good people. Every one got along and enjoyed themselves.

“It's an Oyster Bar not fine Dinning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

Some of the reviewers treat this as a comparison to better restaurants. It is a simple, well located cool place. The oysters are great. Yes the are slightly pricey. However, this is Destin. I go to Nova Scotia for the summers and oysters there are 30 dollars a dozen (12 not 13). A fun place that is what it is!
