There is plenty of potential for this motel, now called the "Destin Inn and Suites." However, a MAJOR renovation project kept us from enjoying our stay. First off, half of the rooms in the hotel were not yet refurbished. They are in terrible shape, cracked and chipped bathroom tiles, dirty sinks, moldy ceilings, light fixtures missing, and dirty carpet. The newly renovated rooms are very nice with comfortable beds, big TV's and renovated bathrooms (though they are still quite small!).
But, before you stay here make sure the CONSTRUCTION is finished! We were able to stay for one night before the 7 a.m. drilling, hammering, sawing and overall construction noise awakened us and made it impossible to stay there. Imagine dropcloths across the parking lot and trying to sleep at a construction worksite. The manager should have closed the hotel to guests during this renovation project, as some of the rooms did not even have doors or windows on them, as this was no minor work project! The staff was friendly and tried to accommodate to an extent. But, I think it's unfair to guests to expect us to put up with that much noise, commotion and inconveniece. Once the job is done, it looks like it will be a neat place to stay. There is a decent pool area and it is right in the heart of Destin. Just make sure the motel is not a "work in progress" during your trip to paradise.

Under new ownership and management, you can see the major improvement of this hotel, room was clean and front desk staff was ver helpful. It was a pleasure to stay there and we will stay there again
