We tried this restuarant based on the TripAdvisor reviews and location (close to where we were staying). We were looking for a good, local, non-chain Italian place...and Fat Clemenza's definately fit the bill. It's small, but cozy and menu was very good...offering a nice variety from appetizers, pasta dishes, as well as some local seafood dishes.
Our table ordered several appetizers (shimp diablo, calimari and olive salad) that we all pretty good. Entrees were also very good. Most dishes are cooked in their wood-fired oven. My wife and I shared a calzone and lasagna...both were good, but the calzone dough was cooked beautifully (not overly bready or greasy). The rest of our table either had pasta, veal or chicken dishes that all were very good as well. The fresh bread and house dressing are both very good as well.
We have outstanding service during our entire meal and would highly recommend the cozy, authentic Italian restaurant to anyone. It's also nice that it's just off of Hwy98 out of the way a bit.
