“A bit reactive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

This is my third April vacation at the Marriott and I've upgraded rooms each year. This year I was in an ocean front room, which was very nice. Upon check-in we requested bathrobes. While we were eating, the robes were delivered. The next morning, we went to put the robes on before our breakfast was delivered-there were no ties. When we went to the pool, we requested ties. Later we went to the room and we had 2 new robes plus 2 with no ties. Robe ordeal over and done. We also assumed that we would be able to put a bottle of wine in the minibar. We never thought that we didn't have a key and it wasn't until we came back from town that we realized that the fridge wasn't even working. We asked for a fridge and one was delivered that night. I guess we shouldn't have assumed that our room had a fridge, but they did make it right for us. The only other complaint I have is the one day that we had a pool man who pointed to the overhead bin when my mother returned her towels. She had to put them in the bin herself while he watched. The next day there was a new trainee in that position-again they seemed to be operating behind the ball. The place is very nice, the staff helpful, and we had a great time, but I don't like feeling like I'm a pest by calling the front desk every day for one thing or another.

It doesn't get any better than this. Excellent location. Wonderful pool, service. Across the street from Delray Beach. Close to the best restaurants in town. Excellent concierge services. Wonderful food and meeting rooms. Very clean. Crowded but clean. Pool area was a bit crowded but still nice. Well organized.

Small touches make such a big difference in making this property one that you will want to return to. Big beach towels, citrus and melon flavored water, great spa, friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast buffet is exceptional value.

Room Tip: North tower corner rooms have extra windows and very good view. Middle rooms are a bit more spaciou...

This was our first time in Delray and fell in love with the town and especially with the Marriott. It was a beautiful hotel right across from the ocean and so close to all the action. This is unlike any Marriott we have ever been to- it actually felt like a luxury hotel, especially the lobby. The staff was very helpful even to the point of walking over to their nearby Residence Inn to get my husband foam pillows when we realized he was allergic to the down. The pool area was very nice- only wish they could've been a little more strict on reserving chairs by pool. Overall, a wonderful hotel in a great location and we look forward to going back.

We stay almost exclusively at Marriott properties, but this property is by far one of their best! Upscale from the typical Marriott so you have a feeling of luxury. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. The breakfast (which was included in my AAA rate) was one of the best buffet breakfasts I have ever had. The fruit was so fresh, it must have been picked just hours before serving! This is not a new hotel, but it looked like the bathrooms had been updated. VERY nice and comfortable room. Pillows awesome! Just across the street from the beach, but the pool area is great. We arrived at the pool during peak time and didn't think we would get chairs. One of the attendants saw us looking, helped us find chairs, and moved them to a great location (we did not ask... he approached us and offered to help). The pool bar was packed and the wait staff very busy so the bartender personally delived our drinks so we wouldn't have to wait. Absolutely no complaints! We will most definately stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for beach view.

Highlights
--Location near beach

Lowlights
--No fridge in room
--Room furnishings very tired
--Expensive - $400/night
--No place to buy coffee or a muffin the AM's - only a full-service restaurant
--Balcony is small

I would not stay here again. It's not the worst hotel in the world but it is nothing special.

Room Tip: Get a high floor facing the ocean even partially. It is pretty.

Nothing to write home about, but good location, close to ocean, pool, bar, etc. the rooms could be a little newer, they are remodeling the hotel and may rooms have been restored. No real view of the ocean but it is across the street.
