My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in mid Sept. We are Bluegreen owners and this is an 'associate resort and was our first time here. We had booked back in March and had requested an ocean facing room, having read the 'top tips' here on TA but unfortunately on arrival we were given a ground floor room facing into the garden.
The staff here are very pleasant and it helps being a small resort of only 20 rooms so you recognise faces when you spend a few days there. The apartment was a 1 bed and perfectly formed on the inside. Kitchen is small but has all you could need it it ( perhaps a kettle would be nice though?), I have stayed in bigger apartments with Bluegreen where the kitchen isn't nearly as good. The lounge area was huge, too big for us, but I can see if there were 4 of you staying it would be good. Bed lovely and comfy. Pool was small and I agree with the previous posters comment about the fencing around the pool, is it really necessary to have it over 6 ft high??
Unfortunately for us, the weather was pretty grey and wet for the first 3 days there so we went to malls, not ideal. I went for runs in the morning and it's about 2.5 miles to Atlantic Avenue from the resort. You do have to run on the road most of the way but cars gave you a wide berth which was good. It's a nice run for anyone interested, shaded with the pine trees and lots of lovely houses to gaze at.
We had a walk along the beach one day and it was lovely to see loads of turtle nests just outside the hotel and all the way along, I would love to be there and stay up a night to see any hatching. What an experience that would be! Agree with the comment about rubbish, but I gathered that was becuase we had had some bad weather so it had come in with that. I presume the beach along in Delray Beach is much prettier? Lots of houses to look at, and one gargantuan monstrosity with an unfriendly rottweiler guarding it who I was convinced was about to leap the fencing. We weren't even anywhere near the boundary wall but it clealy heard us talking and went demented. On the return walk I stayed near the water, just in case I had to run into the sea if it made the leap!
Would we come back again? I think we were unlucky with the weather and that is always a problem when you are planning a trip that is more geared for chilling by the pool. Malls are fine for a day but I'm not a great shopper. I enjoyed the quietness of the resort and everyone seemed very friendly, guests and staff alike, so yes, we would definiltey come back when we next get the chance. I would make enquiries next time around to try to time it with the turtles laying eggs or hatching and hope we strike it lucky. It is a little far to get to any restaurants if you want to walk, in fact it's a non starter, but we chose to eat in a lot and loved having the BBQ to use. The only criticism would be that the patio to sit out on is pretty small, unless of course you have an ocean facing room and then it's huge.
