My wife and I took our 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren for the week of June 27 through July 5, 20008. The resort is an older one, with only about 30 units, but VERY well maintained. The landscaping was perfect. The overall appearance was extremely clean and well looked after. We had 2 units (each 1 bedroom which were pretty much identical. They were clean and had lots of closet and drawer space, my daughter had no trouble getting all the kids cloths put away. Each unit had a stacked washer/dryer, which got put to good use daily.
The pool area is very nice as well, they have a "toy chest" storage unit with pool stuff, like noodles and other floaties. There were about 8 tables with umbrellas and plenty of chaise lounges and chairs. There is a VERY NICE covered patio area with several large grills that you can use, which we did several times, as well as many other guests.
This resort is right on the beach, just 3 steps down from the patio/pool area and a short 30 or 40 foot walk and you are at the waters edge. The water is very clear and the surf was never rough. There is GOOD snorkeling about 100 yards both directions with lots of marine life around the rocky shoals that are almost viable at low tide. There were lots of sea turtle nests on the beach, which get roped off by the turtle patrol volunteers, we even found a turtle that had come ashore around midnight to lay her eggs, the kids loved this, ok, so did we adults.
The beach is not crowded like so many other beach resorts, due to the fact this is one of only 3 or 4 resorts on this section of beach, there are beatiful million dollar homes up and down this section of beach.
Delray Beach is about a 5 minute drive down A1A, here you will find many nice shops and eateries. There are no tacky souvenier shops on every corner like some other resort areas. There are grocery stores within a 15 minute drive and a mall area with walmart and target within a 20 minute drive.
This was a GREAT resort, and I highly recommend it, the fact that it is a small resort, you get to know the other guests.
