This place is very familiar to those who frequent Delray Beach. Their breakfast is most likely what they are better known for. I have to say I have never had a bad breakfast here whether eggs, pancakes or french toast - it is all delicious and made just right!
Lunches here have been iffy...this past time the egg-salad was warm and seemed to have an off taste. We both worried it was spoiled. Other times things are fine but just average for lunch.
The staff knows many customers by first name and are often though not always pleasant and friendly. Don't expect anyone to pamper you here however - it is super duper crowded most of the time and often you wait outside for a table. The staff is overburdened most of the time so if you need a particular item best to get up and go to the counter and ask. This is a very tiny place and hasn't been renovated in years...check out the bathrooms for an example. There is however something very special about the Owl. It has been in Delray so long it is like an institution. The prices rarely go up and when they do it is by fractions of a dollar. It is super homey here with a real neighborhood feel, something not easy to find in South Florida where everything is trendy and touristy many times. Check the place out and form your own opinion.
