Went here for an anniversary stay. Overall, this is a wonderful property, very well maintained with a casual, fun atmosphere. Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are very comfortable. Ours had a fridge and a little kitchen, plus a private little patio in back. The bed was very soft and the bedding was way comfy. Unfortunately I'm allergic to down, so they had to take off the featherbed pad and the down comforter. They didn't give us replacements for either item, so it wasn't nearly as comfortable afterward.

The only other issue is that there is a light right outside the door and when you close the blinds, it still shines inside the room. there are no curtains. I'm used to total darkness when I sleep, so I didn't like that. If you're from a more urban setting, it might not bother you at all.

The two small pools are really nice and there's a little tiki bar there that was open one of the nights we stayed. The pool has amazing greenery (palm trees etc.) around it, so it's shady, which is important in the hot Florida sun. It would have been nice just to sit at the pool a whole day.

The location is great. You're a block and a half from the beach and from several restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay here again.

What started out as a surprise anniversary getaway soon turned into a tropical delight from the moment we walked through the pretty gate and under the "No Worries" sign. Our only worries while we were there were "Where to eat?" (Not that we had few choices...we couldn't decide which one out of the many on the lovely Atlantic Avenue) or "Should I walk a block to the beach or stay by the pool?"

We honestly came to Crane's to visit a dear friend but just fell in love with the hotel. If you are into the big chains with 24 hour service and the same decor you could get at any hotel, go elsewhere. But if you want an escape from that with guaranteed tropical views, and the peaceful sounds of the pool's waterfall or breezes through the fabulous palms and flowers the second you walk out of your room, this is your place.

Our suite was spotlessly clean with the most comfortable beds and pillows and decorated like the tropics with the lovely local artwork on the walls and transposed on the pillows and throw. The extra touches were homey and personal (great desserts in the freezer for a nominal charge) and while we knew there was staff there, they kept to themselves with polite "hello's' leaving you feeling like you had a private paradise. After nice dinners out, we enjoyed peaceful evenings siiting by the pool and waterfall treating our selves to a frozen treat mentioned above.

We did not need a car as we enjoyed our walks to the beach, shops and restaurants and felt so safe. My husband is a police officer who is always on edge but it was nice to see him so relaxed. Stop at Nonni's for a homemade gelati after the beach and be sure to grab a great slice of pizza at Pizza Rustica. For dinner, we enjoyed ourselves at Cafe Luna Rosa with the great ocean breeze across the street, entertainment (a piano man with treats of the maitre d' singing) and fabulous gnocchis.

Thank you to Cathy and her staff for making us seem like we were the only ones there and making sure we truly had no worries.

We were part of a 70th birthday party which had been booked for several months and we were quite worried when we read some previous reviews. Did these people stay in the same place as us? We had a superb time. Staff extremely helpful especially Jessie and her staff. The rooms spacious and spotlessly clean and the kitchen units very well equipped. The gardens are lovely and a nice touch is the naming of the plants. Everyone in the party - all 21 of us loved the place and for us Cranes was the jewel in our Florida stay. Cranes is a peaceful oasis a block from the beach. If you go, try Ciao's for breakfast. (a right on Atlantic and tucked in a little courtyard half a block down)

My husband and I stayed at Crane's with our bichon frisee at the end of last October. It was a wonderful experience that really helped me, as I had a car accident that day, and was very distraught. We live in Lake Worth, and had been given this as a gift, and it could not have occurred at a better time. The room was very beachy and comfortable, and our dog who is somewhat neurotic responded favorably to the environment. We took her everywhere we went, and the front desk told us where to go to eat, which was very helpful. I adored the Key West feeling of the hotel and the convenience to everywhere and everything in Delray. The manager Lori was very attentive even though the hotel was busy. The staff also had a way of being unobtrusive, which was also refreshing. The room was clean, with nice little touches, and it was very relaxing to sit by the pool and even outside our room. I would definitely recommend Crane's as a low-key, relaxing hotel with lovely amenities, and a very welcoming staff.
