“Good and bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2012

Had dinner here last night.
Had an 8pm reservation.
Chaotic front desk.
Waited 30 min. For our table. Told to wait at bar.
Very very noisy!
Server was very good. Apps served timely and were good.
Waited 1 hour for our entrees.
Kitchen incredibly disorganized.
Food was good when we finally got it.
Had their burger. It was delicious.
Manager comped our deserts for all the inconvenience.
Would go back but not on a weekend.

“We walked out...don't waste your time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2012

We arrived 2 minutes before our reservation time and were greeted by the rude receptionist. She told us she could not seat us, even though there were many many open tables. She said other parties were ahead of us and they needed r be seated first..By the way, no one was waiting by the receptionist to be seated.. They told us to go to the bar and wait. How long does it take to seat a party of 3....20 seconds? Well, we did go to the bar and ordered $14 martinis. After 10minutes I went to the hostess and told her I didn't understand what was going on, as I did not see other people being seated. She said OK I'll seat you now. Ok so it was all a ploy to get us to buy their drinks. The drinks were so so watered down. We complained and sent them back. The manager brought us new drinks....again very watered down. It appears that they water down the liquor in the bottles. The second round was just as bad as the first. We saw a few items on the online menu that we liked as it is a very limited menu. They were all out if what we saw online, and they didn't have anything we wanted to eat. The bread was dried little pieces of toast. We finally had it and said we were leaving. What a waste. We love Max's in Mizner Park and were looking forward to this restaurant. Don;t bother, the quality and attitude stink.

“Great food, disorganized kitchen and reservation system”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2012

The food was great. However, often that's not enough.

We had a 7:30 reservation and arrived at 7:20. It was clear that there were a lot of people waiting to be seated, and at 7:30 they offered us a table outside. It was a cold night and we preferred to sit inside as we had requested for our reservation. After waiting 10 minutes, it was clear that our wait would be at least 30 minutes more, so we took and outside table near a heat lamp.

We waited a while for our server to take our order, and the food took a really long time to arrive. When it did it was really good, but we were starving by then. We commented on the delay to our server who seemed to suggest that this was the problem with so many people coming to dine there. A well run management and kitchen should be able to handle this much better!

“skip it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2012

We arrived at Max's anticipating a great dining experience. We were seated at a small table for 2 along the South wall, where we were literally jammed in between 2 other couples who were sitting "love-bird" style, side by side. Our menu arrives, and it is so dark in there, that the waiter must hand us a flashlight so we can read it. Obviously this is standard since he had a flashlight in his pocket. I ordered the $19.00 agnolotti with truffle oil. Growing up in an Italian household, I assumed that it was $19.00 because of the truffle oil, so that didn't bother me....until the dinner arrived, and there were only THREE agnolotti on the plate. My husband ordered the tenderloin, (which was a slice) for over $45. The food was underwhelming, and over priced. The red wine was served too warm. (When they say wine should be served at room temp, they are talking about back in the day before electric/gas heating.)

Over priced, over hyped. There are better places to have dinner in Delray.

“Great dining experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2012

A nice addition to Delray's restaurant scene. Perfectly prepared foods ranging from small to large sharing size portions. The back patio area, surrounded by bougainvilleas, is my personal favorite. The only disappointment was the size of the bar, which was limited, two small bars, one indoor and one out back. The fried egg burger is the best ever!! Dates with blue cheese and bacon, wow! Do not pass n this dining experience!
