“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

This is a really nice small hotel. Even though it's not right on the beach, transportation between hotel and beach club is always available. Easy walk to downtown area, with great bars and restaurants. If you do not wish to walk hotel transportation is available until 11:00 pm.
Rooms are nicely decorated, nice bathrooms.
Really nice hotels, highly recommended, Delray Beach is a really nice place to relax and enjoy good food.

Stayed four nights in mid-May for business although I've stayed at the hotel in prior year's for vacation. It felt like I was coming home. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable, as I remembered. The staff was welcoming and helpful as always. The newspaper was outside my door each morning which was a nice touch. Enjoyed late afternoon cocktails at the Atlantic Grille each day. The staff was wonderful and helped to keep fun conversations going with the other patrons at the bar.

My husband and I will definitely be back next winter - or maybe even sooner!

Room Tip: Interior rooms are small but quiet and if you are traveling for business they are very affordable.

Took my girlfriend for her birthday over Memorial Day weekend. The amenities and room were very nice, but they were under-staffed and the service was average at best. Chefs at the poolside bar messed up Audrey's simple order from the menu, had to wait a long time to get a drink because only one girl was working. Was supposed to get a newspaper at our door in the morning but they "Ran out" and we didn't get one. Room service knocks on our door at 10:30am to ask when were leaving the morning of checkout. Kinda low class service for $300 a night. If you're paying to stay there, one should expect top notch service, and top notch service it was not. Beach club pool full of sand from kids jumping in whithout showering from the beach. Nice place but probably won't go again. Unless it's free.

I've traveled and traveled and traveled. My pet peeve everywhere has been that either the beds or the pillows lacked home comfort. The lack of a good nights sleep always took something away from the overall experience. Not this time!
The Seagate was by far the best sleep I've ever had in a hotel room. The mattress and the pillows were amazing!!! The room was immaculate. Every amenity possible. If I thought of it, it was there...and if I didn't think of it, it was also there.
The property is beautiful. The scene is hot! Never did I imagine that Delray beach would be a scene. The restaurants on the strip were above expectations. Being a native New Yorka, I consider myself a bit a of food snob. Outside of grossly exaggerated prices for food at these restaurants, Delray beach did not disappoint.
Since I'm reviewing The Seagate and not Delray beach I will add that the only negative was that the nightclubs and bars close early. So plan your night accordingly. The Sand Bar across the street from the beach closed at midnight. Once again, coming from a city that never sleeps, I was forced to go to sleep. Luckily the hotel made sleeping something to look forward to.
Seagate's private beach club was private and exclusive. The food was phenomenal but once again a bit pricey. The beach was spotless but the waves were a bit rough. Great for water sports, not so much for a casual swim, so stay aware!
My excellent rating is based on my overall experience. I've taken into account courtesy, professionalism and overall service provided by every staff member at the resort.
Hope this helps my fellow tripadvisors and new travelers alike.

We stayed at the Seagate for three nights. Preferred Hotel and nicely done.

Our room on the second floor over the pool was comfortable with large soaking tub and shower as well as coffee machine and mini bar.

They have two Mercedes GL450 SUV's to transport you to nearby spots which is very convenient.
The hotel staff was on their game and the stay was on par with what you would expect from a Preferred hotel. We would not hesitate to stay at the Seagate again.

Room Tip: Pool view seems best as other exposures are on the street and street noise can be bothersome.

This is a very pretty property. Well thought out from a design perspective. It has a sophisticated palette, interesting and appropriate public space art and a great location on a busy restaurant/touristy street. While it is true that it is not on the beach, it is not far and a cute shuttle runs you over to the beach club on the half an hour. There is also a car that will take you to nearby destinations on a first come - first served basis. The employees that you run into in the hotel are very pleasant. The rooms are large.

Phone conversations leave something to be desired. Calls to reset our safe went unanswered. The car was not bought around when requested, and some calls went unanswered altogether. One of the concierges was downright confrontational. As expected, the concierge was trying to sell The Beach Club as a restaurant, but when we declined and said we had been there (for lunch-more on that later) she quickly tried to make us wrong by informing us that she didn't see how that was possible as they were only open Thursday through Sunday. Seems like this might have been an opportunity to find out when we were there, and why we did not like the place.

As to the ugly. The carpeting in our room looked like spring break festivities had occurred in that very room and on the floor. While the room was spacious and airy with a large terrace, and the bathroom and surfaces were clean, housekeeping was a problem. The comfortable bed was layered with pillows. Unhappily someone had put the square "euro sham" pillows into the regular American style pillow shams. This resulted in shams that did not cover the pillows and allowed you to visit old nosebleeds and whatever microbial remainders there were of previous guests in a personal way. Calls to housekeeping for new pillows pushed you into voicemail. Furthermore, turndown service occurred as late as 10pm, and the housekeeper's closet door slammed open and shut all day long outside our room. These are management problems. The housekeepers seemed quite willing to help when one met them one on one, just badly trained.

The Beach Club is beautiful. It has a visually stunning terrace where one can have a ho hum meal served in tai chi fashion. The gratuity is included, which is probably a big part of the problem. The staff seemed completely disinterested in the guest experience - dragging tables across the floor for new setups rather than lifting them to avoid that screeching sensation of chalk on a blackboard. The beach, and small pool looked beautiful and inviting. My biggest issue was the smell of sewage as one stood in front of the Beach Club waiting for a ride.

In short this is a decent property that could be a very good one with some changes. In the meantime, make sure you check your room options before you accept what is on offer.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Decor and furnishings were modern and very stylish. Large balcony. Really liked the way hotel was constructed around a concealed parking area. Staff very friendly and competent. Short
walk to really great public beach or a short shuttle ride to their beach club complete with pool, bar, umbrellas, and chairs--use covered by resort fee. Hotel very close to many shops and fun restaurants and bars with high quality food and drinks. Delray Beach a very laid-back and fun place. Would like to return to The Seagate for a longer stay.
