“Slow food with a smile”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2012

We love this place but have to seriously get our head in an island vibe to get over the slow service. Donald and Beverly are so kind and generous though that you can't get upset. Just prepare to wait for your food. Our advice: order double drinks, water, & appetizers right away, get up and ask if you really need stuff and then just chill out until the entrees eventually arrive, which will be delicious. We usually tip less as they own & operate the restaurant which we feel is fair and balances the waiting time.

“tiny place with great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

Kitchen got backed up so food was a little slow coming out. Quality of service and attitude of server more than made up for delay. Food was excellent. Jerk meatball app and curry chicken entree were great. There are fancier and more expensive places to eat on Atlantic ave but none better than this off the avenue establishment. Next time in Delray I will be back.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2011

We read the reviews on trip advisor and caught our attention. I went with my boyfriend and his friend. We were skeptical at first when we walked in because the place was small and there weren't a lot of guests. We started with the jerk meatballs which were very moist and tasty! After that we knew we were in a for treat. We shared three entrees and some sides. We had the oxtail, goat, and fish. Everything was delicious, especially the goat! The cook came out and interacted with us. We will definitely be back soon!!!

“Very Pleasantly Surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

This place didn't look like much from the outside but the very friendly and attentive owners, fantastic food and nice atmosphere made for a great dining experience. We tried an appetizer, four dishes and a few sides family style which gave everyone at the table a chance to try all the dishes. There was not a bad dish to be had anywhere. I think that anyone would enjoy this place but since it's a few blocks back from the main drag in Delray, most people don't even know that it exists. Too bad that it's only open for dinner...

“Great authentic Caribbean!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2011

We have gone to Bamboo Fire Cafe twice now. It is small inside and out (but cozy!) and hidden, a couple of blocks off the avenue. A couple owns the restaurant and it feels and tastes like you're getting a homemade meal. We have enjoyed the jerk chicken, curry snapper, plantains, special bread, conch fritters and jerk meatballs. It's difficult to find anything like this place and you get a lot for your $$. It's a keeper and we'll be back, quite often...
