“Great Variety”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

One of the best spots in town. I can never decide what I want. I'm pretty sure I've ordered 5 different dishes the last 5 time I went. Very laid back atmosphere and great service.

“Last min resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

So if you dont have time to leave deland its not bad for the burger. Steaks are so not worth it. They are trying to go cheesecake fatory/BJ brewhouse half way and in deland and it is not working. Changing some plates and a few meal did not help. Its brickhouse. The stetson hang out. Cheap drinks that it. Quality of food is just ok nothing grand

“2 Outta 3 Ain't Bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

This is a local joint for us....downtown DeLand. The first time we ate here, I foolishly ordered a fish-dish special, so did my daughter-in-law. Awful. I should have my head examined for ordering this at a burger/sandwich eatery. Wasn't going back, especially with so many restaurants to choose from in this university town. BUT, we had tickets for a show at the lovely Athens (twice) and friends wanted a mid-day meal nearby. I will admit the sandwiches were very good...grilled chicken with apple and brie cheese & smoked turkey with fig marmalade & brie both on ciabatta. I also had the coconut curry soup...again very good. The menu is extensive...ribs, burgers, brisket, chicken, steak, lobster pasta, salads, chili & more. I will stick to lunch at the Brick House. Warning, if you need to get out quick...forget it. It took 45 minutes for a party of 4 to get 2 sandwiches & 2 wraps. The place wasn't crowded, at least when we got there. There's no excuse for tardy service. We weren't there to linger over a glass of wine. So, in a rush....Brick House isn't the place. But if you have the time and want a good sandwich this restaurant is fine. Oh, not cheap. One soup, a coke, an iced tea plus a two sandwiches....$36 & change.

“History, Charm and Character.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

We met some dear friends here for lunch. This was our first time at this restaurant. We found parking right in front of the entrance.Parking can be an issue ! The area around this establishment reflects the décor. Upon entering your taken " Back in Time ".Red brick, aged woods,a real sense of history. The menu has something for everyone. They are known for their Ribs, and ribs it was for me.Melt off the bone BBQ and rubbed. The flavors were fantastic. We also had " Blackened Fish "which was extremely tasty. The onion rings are a must have.Service was super. This is a " College "Town, and not your usual stereotype. The community takes great pride in keeping up all the " Historic " properties, and the pathways to them in excellent condition. The only issue we had... We were 10 minutes over the allotted parking time, and received a Ticket.Remember we were parked by the front door, and our table faced the street. We could see the car, go figure.Out side of that, everything was perfect. If your travels takes you near Deland,Fla,you must try this establishment. We'll be back, but we'll watch the time more closely.

“Always a good meal and a good time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

The Brick House always serves up good food with a good atmosphere. Sometimes it can get a bit crowded but hey, that's what you expect from a successful restaurant. The onion rings are a must and they usually have a wide selecti0on of fish if you are not in the mood for a steak.
