“A gem of a boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Recently renovated, this unique boutique hotel retains the charm of the past era, with the comforts we have come to expect in this one. The wood floors are original, the bed set up is the newest style ~~~ the high ceilings are original, the art and decor are modern, clean and welcoming ~~~ you get the idea.
We were pleasantly surprised to find both rooms to be as large as they were, plus the bathroom is actually good sized. A door between the living area and the bedroom allows you to close off the bedroom. The sofa and seating area are well designed for comfort and relaxing. Each area of the hotel retains a nod to the past. Sara, the proprietor, obviously worked to keep the best of what was there and add to that.
The staff at the hotel, the piano bar and the restaurant are friendly and the service is top notch. Daniel, the chef, visited tables and chatted with customers the night we ate there and we told him his food and presentation was outstanding.
The desk are set up is small, but completely workable. We also found the internet service to be fast and reliable.
DeLand is a charming city to visit and we will come back to spend more time exploring.
The one minor thing we missed was fresh morning coffee available at the hotel. There is a small coffee maker in the room, however nothing compares to the real stuff! Thankfully there are several restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops in the immediate area to go to for your morning caffeine.
If you, like us, enjoy the quirky charms of downtown main street old hotels, the Artisan Downtown is one to add to your list of places to experience. Staying here offers something that is not the blah standard night in a chain hotel.

Stayed several days. The hotel is updated with nice decor and a comfy bed. Hotel location on downtown street allows for easy walks to coffee shops and stores but since hotel is on the Main Street it gets noisy starting at about 5:30 AM, nothing friendly staff can do about location. Every morning a siren blared down the street before 6:30AM. There is a nice Italian restaurant on main floor (no breakfast though) open late. If your plans having you rising before the traffic then okay stay.

I stayed here for one night on business. The staff was helpful and charming, and the location was fantastic for my business and dining on the historic main street. The hotel itself is unique, comfortable, and a far lovelier place to stay than the generic chains otherwise available.

Was in Deland for business for the first time and chose this hotel as it is downtown. What a gem. Rooms are comfortable and large- great bed. Owners and staff incredibly delightful! Pleasant to talk to. Soon to have a restaurant downstairs. Would absolutely stay there again and even looking forward to staying there again.

My husband and I recently spent the weekend in DeLand, Florida and stayed at the Artisan Downtown Boutique Hotel.

I was super chic and extremely comfortable. Its been renovated very nicely and the cool wow factor is that the building itself was the old DeLand Hotel from the turn of the century. There are large photos of the original building on the wall as you walk to the elevator. They have renovated the building/rooms but have captured the essence of the history of the building in the details.

The room itself had 2 separate spaces with a door between the sitting area and the sleeping/bath area. The sofa in the sitting room was very comfortable, as was the queen size bed. Both rooms had flat screen tvs, a bonus for being in either room.

DeLand is a great slice of small town Florida but don't be fooled its not stuck in time, its trendy and quaint all at the same time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the north side so you can look out onto main street downtown.

Upon checking into the artisan downtown I was greeted by very friendly staff member. He already knew my room number explained where everything was and was very nice. The rooms are big, with a sitting area and two flatscreen TVs in each room. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. Judging from the other options nearby I would stay here hands-down.

Stayed one night in a very nice room for a good price. The staff was friendly and helpful. My son had a treat time learning Russian from the front desk person while we sat in the bar and watched Rugby and talked to the owner.

Very close to downtown shops and eateries.
