“Very poor museum Both locations devoted to one low quality person”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We visited the museum downtown Satellite and paid for museum entry for two people. Saw the satellite location was all one persons items, but was not informed that the main museum, which we wanted to go to, and did go to, was also entirely full of this persons items. Total waste of time and money. Bad decision on both artistic and marketing side to devote both satellite and main museum to one, very poor, repetitive person. worst ten bucks spent all week and worst waste of time and travel. Too bad as the facilities were nice, and people working there were friendly.

“Two for one price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

Although the two museums are not that large, it is only $5 and you can get into BOTH museums which are only about 5 minutes apart. There was one artist featured when we were there and her work was wonderful and very unique! Staff was lovely and we really enjoyed what they had to offer.

“changed the name but why go?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Stopped by to see what the name change could mean for the art on display. Very boring and without much attractiveness.

We would like to invite you to return to take advantage of visiting both Museum locations in beautiful historic DeLand, which are only six blocks apart at 100 N. & 600 N. Woodland Blvd. A diverse variety of exhibitions are currently appearing in all nine galleries (9250 sqft.) including the works of Karl Zerbe, Steve Tobin, Stephen Althouse and the exhibition "Collector’s Choice: Samuel Blatt Collection." There is also a new exhibition “Brightest Africa” that opens June 13 – 29, 2014, at the downtown location, for which there is no admission June 13 – 15 in celebration of a multicultural event that occurs in DeLand the same weekend. Please know that the Museum’s exhibitions change approximately 4 to 6 times a year, and in this past year alone, works of art appeared from internationally known artists Duane Hanson, Andy Warhol, Sandro Chia, Edward Hopper, Yayoi Kusama, E. A. Burbank and Benjamin West to exceptional Florida artists like Harold Garde, Dorothy Gillespie, Jill Cannady, Richard Segalman, Purvis Young, Les Slenick and many others.

“Catlow Fused Glass Art at Museum of Florida Art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

Catlow Glass is known world wide for almost 35 years. Marilyn Catlow donated work to the museum and has many pieces there for sale and to view! The place is unique as there are many fine artists that live in our area! Events are held throughout the year.

“A Gem for DeLand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

I always enjoyed visiting the museum but still preferred the original name which was the DeLand Museum of Art. A good mix of exhibits and classes makes you feel like they are doing their part to groom the next generation of artists. I have taken several art classes and participated in the exhibits and have always been pleased with the experience. The facilities are exceptional and the people are very helpful. My favorite event is the open art shows where anyone can enter.
