“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2009

I love this hotel and I am usually very picky about hotels. The hotel has a resort feel to it and is on a quiet street with very little traffic. It is across the street from the beach. We had no problem getting extra towels, soap or whatever we needed. Whatever I called down for was brought to the room quickly.

The hotel is nearing the end of a renovation. You could see some painting and work going on in the pool area. It was not bothersome at all and did not interefere with us having a relaxing time.

My husband and I got some excellent poolside massages from Alfredo who works in the spa at the hotel. When he does not have appointments in the spa he sets up a massage chair near the pool. He did an outstanding job for $1 per minute. There were always plenty of towels available at the pool.

There are laundry rooms (1 washer, 1 dryer) at the south end of the 3rd, 5th, and 7th floor. $2 to wash and $2 to dry. The machines are in new condition and work well. My clothes always got dry before the money ran out on the dryer. The washer on the 3rd floor is a front loader so if you prefer top loading machines which use much more water then go to the 5th or 7th floor.

My only complaint was I thought the $20 self parking charge was a little high. The valets were friendly and told me how to self-park.

The computers in the business center are free and worked well. When the printer ran out of paper I called the front desk and someone brought more paper within 2 minutes.

The staff was friendly, the service was good, and we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

I spent 3 nights here in December 2009. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area off the A1A, and across the street from the ocean. There was little traffic in the area, and it was a pleasant, safe walk 1/2 mile to the pier and the more commercial areas. My room was spacious, comfortable and quiet, with a view of the ocean. It had nice amenities: 2 bathrooms in the suite, one with a walk in shower, 2 Flat screen TVs, outdoor chairs for the balcony if needed, and a refrigerator that actually kept items cold!

I used the fitness center, which had nice up to date equipment and TV.
I used the business center computers for free internet surfing and printing directions.
The pool was uncrowded and welcome. Towels were plentiful.
The beach and ocean are easily accessible.
The breakfast was easy and plentiful.
The facility seemed clean, the staff was friendly and courteous.

My only complaint is with their $20 overnight parking fee for valet or self parking. I expect to pay for the service of valet, but since everyone must drive to this destination, charging $20 per night for self parking is just a hidden nuisance fee.

Enjoy!

We were looking forward to a nice stay and booked a more expensive hotel thinking Hilton was a name that you could rely on and then the truth.
I am amazed there has been no major outbreak of Novovirus. The breakfast room is dirty, we watched the tables being cleared and left with food on. There was no spray used or the table even wiped. The clearer had a wet cloth over his shoulder and it was not used. The floor had food over it, obviously left by careless guests, but no attempt was made to clear it. If you asked for anything that was not there you were just told that they didn't have it. One lady from England waited a long time for some plates being offered paper plates at breakfast and the waiter was rude to her not a good reflection on our country for visitors.
The lobby by our room was dirty and that level of dirt did not get there over night. The maid constantly did not replace things and left dirty glasses unreplaced.
We were at a wedding so did not complain at the time but would never go back.

My stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The view was nice, right on the beach. It is a very safe location. Our room was very clean, and the staff was nice. Their breakfast was excellent, and the cooks were very friendly. Even the Valet Parking crew was nice, and always retrieved the car in a quick time.

This hotel offered a very pleasant experience. From start to finish the three night stay exceeded expectation. The suites were large and offered a great oceanview. The extra charge for the view was well worth it. The hotel had a definite Florida feel to it. The Deerfield Beach Pier and a variety of dining venues were about a half mile walk from the property but the walk along the side of the beach was pleasant and worth the effort. You may want to avoid the walk along A1A. There are no sidewalks on some portions of this route - dangerous. The $20 valet parking fee was high but the valet staff was very efficient and helpful. Perhaps the fee can be justified by the high volumne of meeting business held during a normal day. I have no complaints here and will return if I am in the area. Deerfield Beach is certainly a quit alternative to Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.

This is an older Embassy, but well maintained. They’re in the midst of a major face lift, paint, new carpets, etc. Liked the large rooms with two bathrooms giving you a choice of tub or large tiled shower. Beach front rooms afford view of pool and Atlantic Ocean. Wonderful area for walking and enjoying the beach. ¾ of a mile north, the area around the city pier is especially nice. Not really a tourist trap; plenty of local flavor. Hotel food quality is lacking; go to the area around the pier. Lots of good restaurants with a good variety of food. Spent three days and could have stayed three more. Front desk comped the inroom internet charge (Hilton Diamond).

After a recent 'minus boyfriend points' trip because I inadvertently (lazy, didn't do any homework) picked a lousy hotel... I went through the exhaustive (read 'anal retentive') process of carefully researching places to stay in the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area. We chose the Embassy Suites in Deerfield Beach (seemed the best balance between nice (expensive-nice) and inexpensive (smelly, moldy, dirty, cheap). Situated in a nice quiet beach section between Boca Raton and Ft. Lauderdale, we found it to be a really nice area and place to stay, particularly for families (very family and pet friendly hotel), and for grown ups that are more interested in quiet and peaceful than loud and flashy. The hotel was nice, clean, reasonably priced and the staff was wonderful. Spacious 2 room suites with the classic Hilton touches, nice pool area, two steps across a single lane one way park drive lane to the beach, free wonderful made to order breakfast and buffet, free drinks from 5:30 to 7:30 every night. Many things right with this choice. Only drawbacks were a couple of minor items you should be aware of: (nickel and dime behaviors that are penny wise and pound foolish, and the management should find a way to stop these annoyances): Valet Nazis - It costs $10 per day to park your car - Ok, I get it, but the Valet guys treat guests with disdain and disrespect if they park their own vehicles - browbeating them if they park in unmarked spaces that they deem to be 'for Valet cars only.' This happened on several occaisions, so this was not a 'fluke', it is a pattern and anyone looking to stay here should be aware of it, until this nonsense is corrected. Disrespectful, rude and unprofessional - this kind of nonsense needs to be stopped immediately (I copied this to the hotel management). Secondly - they charge $10 per day for internet access. Is this 1982? Again - nickels and dimes, and I voice this beef with the management as well. This, coupled with indifference about the poor state of computer and peripheral operability in the guest 'business center' made it annoyingly difficult to print out return boarding passes from the hotel, and the desk staff really didn't seem to care. Other than these two little issues (which I anticipate will be corrected), the staff were wonderful, friendly, nice, over the top helpful and accomadating throughout the hotel, from the beach towel guys to the chefs and housekeepers (valet nazis and lazy front desk people notwithstanding.) Great place, most highly recommended for a great balance of nice beachfront visit in the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area. (New England - Rhode Island home - frequent business traveler - with restored boyfriend points in the bank.)
