“Good location for beach and downtown restaurants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Stayed on a business trip so spent all day in room with no windows! Stayed on for the weekend prior to trip up north.

Upsides. Some staff are friendly, managers party offers free drinks and snacks, breakfast is great, pool is warm and clean with ample towels, beach is across a quiet road and is sandy with occasional turtles nests!

Downsides. Some staff are downright unfriendly! If you stay on the top floor make sure kits not in the rooms near the elevators as the mechanics are loud. Pool shade is sparse.

The room smelled terrible. We were fortunately out of the room more than we were in it. We didn't report it because we had a large group and they all complained. Staff around the hotel was fine. On the night we checked in there was a red headed gentlemen who was short, rude and unfriendly. I thought it was me, then 2 days later he was the same way. This turned me off especially as stated earlier, Embassy Suites is my favorite chain. Look at my Hhonors history and you will see that. I did not become a gold member for nothing. Checking in with that gentleman was a nightmare. we had 7 in our party (one was a very small child). When I booked the hotel I told the lady on the phone this and she said this was ok. Whilst at the hotel the gentleman made a big deal. Finally the manager came over and said to the man "What are you going to do, tell him he can't stay here"...to which the man seem to GRUDGINGLY set up us for our stay. I was turned off by the hotel. Badly. And the room smell was terrible...

We stayed with our six year old and 23 month old in July. The rooms were wonderful and spacious, and having two rooms(one for us and one for the kids)made it a vacation for the parents as well because we had our privacy. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned and smelled great when we returned from the pool. A refrigerator and microwave in the room made the trip affordable and convenient. The rooms look like they have been remodeled-and a beautuful view. The free breakfast was a blessing again, especially with kids and the quality and variety was great! Free drinks during manager's reception was a treat for the parents after a day of swimming and sun. The beach was convenient to get to and had perfect "coves" where the water was still and calm(great for baby)with lots of beautiful shells on the beach. The biggest thing that I kept saying to my husband was how friendly and warm the staff was! Umberto's pizza, bob's(Amanti's), Flanigan's, and patio bar and grill are great places to eat just a short distance away. My family lives in nearby Boca Raton/Boynton beach so we will definitely be back to stay!

Excellent food with cook-to-order omelets for breakfast, excellent lunch and dinner. The manager special is from 5:30 to 7:30 every evening and they have free drinks and snacks. I really enjoyed the restaurant area. Rooms are big, clean, with comfortable beds and with a very nice view to the ocean. The beach is just across a small street, very accessible and we had a good time there too, not to mention that the ocean is so warm and very palyful. We had an excellent time and we will definitely get back there for another stay!

Stayed two nights at this property. Booked an oceanfront suite, given a corner unit where you have windows on two sides (balcony included), fabulous view! The beach was awesome; my daughter loved the waves crashing in onto us. Staff were courteous and professional. Cooked-to-order omelets and other breakfast items (included in room price) were great! It gets crowded sometimes though. Not to mention the manager's reception (5:30-7:30 I believe) every evening where complimentary alcoholic beverages and snacks were served. I would argue that the pool was a little overrated. Pool size was OK and kids-friendly, but way too crowded. Also, the pool water was slightly murky.

Will definitely return again!

We had a very nice 2 room/2 bathroom suite. The place is a bit tired, the carpet was quite sticky and stained. However, the beds were clean, but not too comfortable. The view is very nice, but the balcony isn't big enough to sit on to enjoy it.

We recently stayed at this Embassy Suites as part of a large family reunion. These are my thoughts after our 4 night stay:

PROPERTY: The resort is not overly scenic or anything, but it is nice enough. The beach is across a small street. The pool is not huge, but big enough to handle a good amount of guests. The pool actually goes deep also (6.5 feet). The lobby isn’t that large, but there is seating and couches available. The pool hut offers free beach and pool towels, as well as free lemon or orange water.

ROOM: We upgraded to an Oceanfront room (#604), and we were probably in one of the best rooms at the resort. It was a high floor (the hotel has 7 floors), and both the living room and bedroom had stellar views out to the ocean. It was great to be able to wake up and see the ocean as soon as you sat up in bed. We also had a large wrap-around balcony with tables and chairs. I believe not all of the oceanfront rooms have walk-out balconies though. The two full bathrooms were a nice bonus (one had a shower and one had a tub). Living room was a big size and we had plenty of closet space for our clothes. Toiletries were from the Crabtree & Evelyn line.

BEACH/OCEAN: The beach directly in front of the resort is one of the thinner ones you’ll see. However, bang a right when you get outside and you will get to a wider beach. The ocean was lots of fun- very few rocks and playful waves. We had a fun time playing in the ocean with the “supermoon” waves.

FOOD & DRINK: It is rare to get a free full breakfast at a beach resort, but fortunately this one provides it. Food was solid, especially the omelet station. The manager’s reception is between 5:30 pm-7:30 pm and you get free draft beer and well liquor. They also offer chips and vegetables for free.

AREA: Deerfield Beach has more of a blue-collar feel to it, though it is surrounded by rich areas such as Boca Raton and Pompano Beach. There aren’t many restaurants within close walking distance, but there are plenty of restaurants within a few miles. The area tends to have more independent restaurants, as opposed to national chains (which is a good thing in my book). If you want chains, you can head up to Boca.

SERVICE: We encountered great customer service all over the hotel.

Overall, we had a fun stay at this resort and it is a nice option in its price range.

Room Tip: Choose a room above floor 5 for the best views.
