I had to go to florida at the last minuet for a family emergency. I booked this hotel because it was close to where I had to be. January is high season in florida so dont expect super cheap rates anywhere, I paid 127.00 a night which was a government rate. Check in was very fast and the clerk was very nice we did ask for a room not overlooking the freeway and we were given a room on the 5th floor. There was someone else checking in at the same time that had orignially went next door the the comfort suites. It looks nicer from the outside, she said her non smoking room reaked of cigarete smoke so she came over to the best western. I guess they put thier money on the outside of the hotel to attract the quests away from the best western.
The elevators at the best western were not as bad as some other reviewers had said. The room itself was very clean, had a dorm size fridge and a microwave and two tvs. Its not a new hotel so the rooms are not new and fresh but they are not old and worn out either. Kind of middle of the road. Some of the reviews said the walls are paper thin. I have to agree on this I could hear the quests in the other room at times. but I have to say this is a problem with most hotels even high end ones. I checked the linens daily and they were always changed. The wireless connection was about average for a hotel and I had no problems there. In the past I have had a problem at some hotels even connecting and having to use a password to access it, no password is required here which makes connecting easier.
They dont offer a breakfast but have a resturaunt where you can buy a breakfast. I didnt eat there so i cant say how good it is or isnt. There really is no place near to get a decent cup of coffee its more industrial in this area, but that really is my biggest complaint and there is nothing the hotel can do about this. just be prepared to use the in room coffee and buy some bottled water.
Normaly I make a trip to florida once a year and stay at the la quinta on peters road- It is very nice and new, I didnt stay there this time because of the distance from where I needed to be even thought they were a few dollars cheaper. I dont have any regrets for that. Once I almost stayed at the laquinta in deerfield beach which was very dirty and smelled like insectiside. Wouldnt stay there if you paid me to!
Overall I feel that the best western Deerfield beach is a good deal for the money and may stay there again if I need to be close to Boca.
