“Charming and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

We had lunch at Karlings and were very satisfied and full with an absolutely delicious meal. The portions were large and so unique in flavor, unlike any other restaurant in the area. The cucumber salad was one of the best I have ever tasted (second only to my Austrian Mother's version) The schnitzel was tender and so good. The service was supreme and the baked Alaska for dessert was incredible! The atmosphere is cozy and charming and prices are reasonable for the size and content of the meals. I Highly enjoyed my experience at Karling's and can hardly wait to return again when I am in the area.

“Wonderful continental cuisine... 16$ beers without warning, ouch!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012 via mobile

Most of the menu at Karlings is expertly prepared and presented, but every entree is painfully overpriced considering quality and quantity. Go for the snitzhel, say no to the " would you like another beer"!

“Excellent Classic menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012 via mobile

Karling's has been a favorite of ours since I first brought Mike here in 1999. We've never been disappointed in service or menu and can highly recommend Karling's for an intimate dinner or special quiet occasion.

“Sometimes great, always at least OK”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

I've eaten here several times over the years, usually for Sunday brunch but most recently for dinner. Stick to the German-inspired food. Warsteiner beer on tap in one-liter (!) mugs. Excellent soup, appis, schnitzel. Seafood is hit-or-miss; friends have enjoyed the crab cakes, but though my grouper was beautifully cooked as a piece of fish, it was covered in cheese that was too rich and took away from the fish's flavor. Side dishes quality varies; potatoes and rice are very good but vegetables are undercooked, too crunchy - where did folks get the idea that veggies have to be crunchy to be nutritious; they don't. Service is friendly and almost doting (but you'll have to get past the 'Fraulein Maria' outfits that some serving staff wear). Sunday brunch is a better value than dinner.

Even though the food can be a bit uneven, I've enjoyed this place every time I've been there, and I will go back.

“You gotta try the fried lobster!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

Softshell crabs were exquisite. Fried lobster was terrific. Trout was excellent. Baked Alaska to die for. And the "boot" of beer was the largest beer we've ever seen.
