“Biketoberfest 2005”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2005

My husband and I stayed at the Seabreeze for 2 nights during Biketoberfest 2005. We were very pleased with the accomodations, especially since we got such a good rate through Orbitz...$74/night. The unit was on the second floor and ocean front. The whole unit was new and clean. We didn't know that it had been completely refurbished and re-opened July 2005 until we checked in. Great place! The view from the balcony is very nice and it is also private since it has concrete walls between you and the next unit. The only thing that could have been improved on was the water pressure in the shower. We will gladly stay there again.

Vacationing in Florida to see Family, my 2 Sisters, Cousin and I decided to get away to the Beach for the weekend. We chose Daytona Seabreeze and could not have had a more wonderful and satisfying stay. Not only were the accomodations fantastic, but the ocean view and beach were superb.
We arrived Saturday at about 11 AM and although checkin was not until 4 PM a room was available and we checked in immediately. This used to be the Surfside Inn and it was purchased by BlueGreen Corporation for vacation club rentals. We booked this room through a 2nd party internet site and received a fantastic rate of $104 per night for a King size Suite.
The room far exceeded what we expected. Decorated in the 50's-60's motiff, it had 1 King sized bedroom with a full bath, 1 Queen size bedroom, a second full bath, a living room with an L-shaped sleeper sofa, a full kitchen with all amenities and both bedrooms had balconies which overlooked the pool area and ocean. The view was well worth every penny!
Starr- the concierge, was so very helpful answering any questions and suggesting dining options. The first night we were there, Starr arranged for us to be picked up and shuttled, free of charge, to "Views" Tavern and Grill.
This is located on Seabreeze Blvd. in Daytona Beach. The food was excellent- 3 of us chose the special which was baked flounder with sauce and diced tomatoes and came with mouth watering vegetables and carribean potatoes. The other meal chosen was Shrimp Teriyaki and it also was very delicious. The atmosphere was great and the Sangria with real fruit really hit the spot. The 2nd day we dined at a small riverside eatery and had Grouper- you cannot visit Florida without having this. Starr also recommended this place and we liked it because it was casual and quick before we were picked up by the free shuttle to go on the SunCruz Casino Boat. It was a great time, although I came back with a lighter purse.
The beach was fantastic! If you want to visit Daytona Beach and want to avoid the crowds, August is the time to go. We would walk out of the elevator, pass the desk, walk by the pool and down the stairs to the beach. We rented beach chairs and umbrellas both days of our stay for a nominal fee- but would not go any other way. Watching the sunrise from the beach or our balcony was a sight to see. The beauty of the ocean is something that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. We even got to see dolphins swimming within 50 ft of the beach.
It was a memorable weekend- awesome accomodations, friendly and courteous staff and beauty all around. Thanks to all at the Daytona Seabreeze for making it happen!

If you are looking for a clean room with a kitchenette, great view of the ocean and a PRIVATE balcony, then pick this hotel. if you are looking for a courteous staff or a reasonable rate, DON'T stay here.
Not many hotels at Daytona Beach have private balconies, many only have iron railings seperating the balconies, this hotel has concrete walls.

My son and I had to stay in Daytona Beach from 7/29-8/3/04 on family business. I chose this place because of oceanfront location, internet access, available kitchen, and exercise room. It was fine, no problems. Our room was on the top floor. Everything was neat, clean, and in working order. The staff were all friendly and helpful, except the night clerk who slept through our 3:30 AM wakeup call. Thank goodness for the alarm clock that worked! And except for a little rust stain on the refrigerator, I have no criticism of the room or facilities.

It is not a luxury property, but for an oceanfront location, it is a bargain. The "beach" at Daytona Beach, is remarkable for its width, flatness, hardness and cars, often occupied by smokers and drinkers who pitch their butts and cans out the window. Not my idea of a "beach" in any sense, except for the fascinating shorebirds and pelicans.

If you need to stay in this area, this hotel is a good choice.

Stayed at the hotel 2 nights, July 16th & 17th. Had a room on the top floor. Nice clean room. Really nice view. Saw they were redoing the outside of the hotel. Had no problems with anything. I do think the hotel needs to add another elevator - the wait was a little long sometimes! Thought everything was clean and up to standard. Would stay here again. Stayed here twenty years ago and decided to try them again and was pleased.

We found the Daytona Surfside to be clean and convenient. No maintenance problems where we stayed on the 2nd floor, and parking was easily available. Staff was very accomodating and friendly. Pool was lovely and immaculate, and area around pool was well maintained. Our room was very clean and comfortable for a 3 nights stay with two teenagers. We ate only one meal in dining room and don't recommend it, but there is other food nearby, and a large grocery store just down the road. Beach was lovely, with minimal cars, and rentals available close by. We've traveled world-wide and found this to be within the average range, and quite acceptable for a family visit.

Stayed from 15 to 19 July 2004. Partner & I came over from England on US timeshare package. Allocated this HOTEL - HELL HOLE. Even American's had same opinion. We were on top floor; the balcony rail was crumbling concrete. Looking along the balconies you could see they were all the same, and you could see where concrete had fallen off the roof. Pigeon droppings festooned the balcony rails and floor, and were never cleaned off. During our stay the pool was never cleaned out. Each morning before it was open, you could see the dirt at the bottom of the pool. The size of the twin room was ok, but we had been given a room for the disabled, so had grip rails around the toilet, and bath. Waiting for the lift, was a nightmare, as the air-conditioning motor blew out constant hot air. It is possible to prevent persons from the next balcony coming over and entering your room, HOW!? Well, you can not lock the sliding doors; you have to “put the bar across”. In NO WAY WOULD THIS HOTEL MEET THE HOTEL STANDARDS SET FOR EUROPEEN destinations. After reading this you may think, it can not really be that bad, well it is. If you have booked, do all you can to change. It’s a HELLHOLE!
