“Nice new looking Hyatt quite area of Daytona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Typical Hyatt place clean modern excellent staff - nice pool comfortable bedding . We had a king suite oceanfront Serves a nice breakfast included with your stay. Scramble eggs big nice sausage links pancakes or French toast. Eggs with gr peepers onions. Kinda like an omelet. Cereal muffins toast bagels fresh fruits oatmeal donuts and more. All well supplied and fresh. Has inside and poolside bar Just few steps from ocean music plays by pool. This is a quitter area so if you want just to relax by beach it's great only 5 miles or so from ocean walk area Denny's red lobster and DQ across street but many other great places to eat fairly close by. They do serve sandwiches saladas and other food at the hotel. Worth the price as always with a Hyatt place

Room Tip: Oceanfront we stayed 8th floor.

The trip was great. The place we stayed was excellent. We got to the room and pleasant surprise is the best adjective I can come up with, fully refurbished with quality and has a modern feel. The balcony view was great. Small fridge in our room makes for a convenient place for drinks and leftovers. The bed was very comfortable and bed covers even had a fresh scent. For the price this place was definitely worth it. Oh, the staff was very pleasant and attentive.

First off, Look at how many reviews I have written and see how many get 5 circles. Decided to give this place a try on my second venture in Daytona Beach with my Wife. Upon entering I was greeted by Meghan who was at the front desk. She was very energetic and made my stay very pleasant. She also gave us a tour and stated to ask her anything if I needed anything. When we got to our room (308) we had a great view looking at the beach and the pool area. The room was spotless! I even looked for paint chips, mold or any issues and found none. I give special thanks for my cleaning lady "Nadine" for doing an outstanding job and making our room stay great. When looking around in the lobby you have a sitting area, 24/7 Starbucks and bar which was a big plus, computer station with printer, and the breakfast area. The free breakfast was the best I have encountered yet at "any" hotel to date. Really fresh breakfast with different choices everyday to keep you happy. They also had Seattle's Best coffee with the breakfast. The pool area was another place that was also spotless. The guy was out there every morning hosing it down to make sure it was clean. You really can't go wrong with the big pool that was set at 84 degrees and the hot tub set at 104 degrees. When we got tired of sitting out in the sun we had a choice of the outside bar or inside one. At the inside bar we dealt with Avery who was just as pleasant as Meghan and made us laugh. We also dealt with Chad and Gretchen who were also very pleasant. I was amazed at all the positive attitudes of the employees who worked there. Ok so now you are probably wondering the cons of the place? Well I don't consider them cons but will tell you. If you get back after 8 pm from driving around it would be tough to get a parking spot in the hotel area but they have extra spaces across the street if you can't find one in the hotel parking lot. The second elevator was down for a little bit on one day of my stay. Stuff happens so it wasn't a really big deal. If you are looking for a hotel with great staff, clean, and just a perfect stay you have to come here. They also have a weight room and a laundry room if needed.

We got to check in early without any hassles. The rooms was clean and fresh. Mike and his staff made us feel like part of the Hyatt family. The food was reasonable and tasty. We didn't have any issues with noise plus it's the Daytona Beach, if you want quiet stay in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Tried out this hotel after years of staying at The Shores Resort. Here is the scoop.

The Pros:

Design-wise, it's new, modern and very attractive both in the common areas and the rooms.

All the staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, attentive and helpful. The service was vastly superior to The Shores.

The rooms had some neat features - nice balconies, inputs on the TV that you could hook up a laptop, tablet or DVD to. Ample counter space in both the room and bathroom. The little sitting area with the hideaway bed added even more space for spreading out belongings. Ample and easily accessible outlets.

The free breakfast buffet is a great feature. It's kind of hard to believe that it's free. The scrambled eggs and sausages were very nicely done. They also have cereal, yogurt, fruit, muffins, bagels, french toast, and so on. We were there on a holiday weekend and even during a peak weekend during peak breakfast hours, you could easily get your food with very little waiting and we always found a place to sit.

The tiki bar at the pool is a big plus. Though not large, we could always find a seat. They have really good snacks and sandwiches. I'm partial to the flatbread. The service/tip is included in the food price. The staff will usually cross out the tip line on the bill to remind you that you don't need to add anything.

Overall, the vibe at this hotel is very chilled out. There are fewer families with kids and it just seems less crazy overall. It has everything you need, but is not overly fancy. The price is very reasonable.

The Cons:

Everyone says the same things and it's true - the parking, the elevators and the noise.

The parking lot is crazy. The lanes are narrow and one-way and you have to back out once you find out there are no available spaces. They definitely give out more parking passes than there are spaces in the hotel lot. They do have overflow parking across the street at the souvenir shop, which we found to be totally adequate and a lot less harrowing. However, there is no crosswalk to get across Atlantic Avenue and you sort of take your life into your hands running across the 4-lane street. Cars generally go a lot faster than the 35mph speed limit. If they got a crosswalk in place, it would be totally fine.

The elevators - they seem to need one more. Now, at the place where I work, we have the slowest elevators known to man, so these did not seem that bad to me but they are definitely below what you experience at most hotels. You just have to put on your patience hat and ask yourself, is this a deal breaker? We were there over a holiday weekend and it was pesky at times but not overly annoying.

The noise - it seems like they built the walls/doors pretty thin at this place. And they know it too, because they have quiet hours signs posted in the elevators and they supply you with earplugs in the room! Not only that, but the ice machine in the hallway is on a timer and you can't get ice until 9:00am. The crowd here is so civilized and courteous that there is not much hallway noise but if there is any, you hear it. We were right next to the elevator on a holiday weekend, but if that's as bad as it gets, it's not bad. To be fair, we didn't hear any noise from above or below or next door, it's mostly from the hallway.

TIP: We discovered on the second night that if you leave the AC on "fan" and leave the bathroom fan on at night, it creates enough white noise that it takes care of the hallway noise problem. When I slept with the earplugs, it was even quieter. The AC is a little noisy shutting on and off in regular mode but on the fan setting, it's better.

I would come here again. I'm thinking of bringing my mom, who's a Shores die-hard, because I think she will like it - except for the parking. They've done a really nice job at this place, especially with the amenities and the service. There are quirks - but this is Daytona. Every place there has quirks.

Room Tip: Get an oceanfront room far from the elevators.

Great hotel. Great pool, great views, great value. The staff was excellent and this hotel is really clean. Breakfast was really good too. The only thing was that the hot tub was way to hot, I mean like over 104.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the cooler the ocean view.

Everything about our stay at the Hyatt was great. Each staff member we interacted with was very nice. My toddler ran in each day straight to the front desk to show the ladies there the toys he had with him each time. They were always so nice to him and took a minute to chat with him.

The hotel was spotless. The common areas were always clean and somehow sand-free. The rooms were clean and very modern. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was quiet. They have a quiet hours policy, which we really appreciated.

The free breakfast was great for a hotel breakfast. There was a lot of variety, and it was much more palatable than many hotel breakfasts. We loved eating breakfast, looking out the huge windows to the beach. You can also eat outside on the patio. They have a bar and a Starbucks by the front desk.

The pool looked clean and we never saw it crowded. The hotel sits on the beach. There is plenty of parking with an overflow lot across the street. We were always able to park in the normal lot.

We loved our stay here and will definitely return if we're in the area again.
