This hotel was certainly NOT as advertised by the Super 8 chain. There was no high-speed internet access (as advertised in all Super 8 brochures) and the Super Start breakfast was laughable. There was no cereal or milk, which are advertised as being part of the "Super Start Breakfast". All they had was bagels and donuts. As for the coffee, there were no cups for coffee--only the thin plastic cups used for cold drinks. And getting credit for the Trip Rewards program Super 8 touts turned into an arguement. Because I had used a coupon for a lower rate, they didn't want to credit my Trip Rewards card. Super 8 Corporation needs to spot-check their hotels. It doesn't matter that they are all individually owned and operated. If they have the Super 8 name on them, they should meet ALL the guidelines of Super 8--beginning with their Super Start Breakfasts and free high-speed internet connection. No excuses.

AFTER reserving the room for a two night stay during Bike Week 2007, I read some really bad reviews about the hotel which were written during 2006. We were so pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel had been renovated (though not totally yet we were told by desk clerk) and was clean and fresh. The beds, drapes, carpet, paint, and furniture all appeared in excellent condition. Never saw the first insect and towels were plentiful and new. Bike week is an overcrowded, hectic time for hotel personnel. From our perspective, they seemed to be totally on top of all issues. The only minor disappointment was the lack of a refrigerator or microwave or clock, which the online hotel site indicated were in each room. Perhaps that will be remedied as the renovations continue. The room price was a great value for the event. We will definitely stay here in the future.
