“Average....nothing more than that.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Attended a wedding in March at the Shores. The bride is my best friend and she was happy with the entire experience which is truly all that matters. The beds were probably the best thing about this hotel they were very comfortable. As far as the rest of the room goes the paint was peeling off the walls and the sink/toilet/shower were dirty. Since we weren't in our rooms much I just ignored all of it but for what we paid for the room itself I think this place needs to some TLC. Also, the staff seems to just not care very much about their jobs. While waiting in line for a drink a the wedding reception both bartenders were talking to each other about their hours and what they were going to do when they got out of there. The food at the hotel is above average. i found the food at the wedding to be great. The snores package is a nice touch but you literally can't get near a fire pit at night as once a group of people is there they stay all night long. This hotel just gets average marks across the board.....the topping on the cake was when I asked the valet to help me secure a cab for the next day and they gave me the phone number instead of calling. I could have stayed down the street for half the price and gotten the same level of service.....

My wife and I spent four days at this lovely resort and we enjoyed every minute of our trip. The service was remarkable from the time we arrived until the time we checked out and headed home. The room was large and spacious and the view of the ocean from our balcony was outstanding. The beach was well maintained and the salt water swimming pools and deck areas were well kept as well. The staff were helpful and friendly and anxious to serve.

Room Tip: The ocean from rooms are the very best.

Positioned right on the beach with driveway access to it, this is Daytona Beach at it's best.

The lobby and bar are decorated in dark tropical woods, feeling a little like Raffles in Singapore.

The outdoor area is lovely and you can even walk down and swim in the Atlantic...it's not heated so I'm thinking that's not going to happen when you have so many lovely heated pools to choose from.

I had a corner room with a lovely balcony. The bathroom was fabulous and the bed very comfortable.

The hotel deck area is nice and just begs you to laze about after a swim. As a bonus, you can eat meals by the pool or at the tables.

I had a good, relaxing time here and I drove away from the hotel along the beach...very slowly. Can't beat it.

We stayed here 3 nights before a cruise. The amenities were nice. Great pool area. Very relaxing. Our room was 710 oceanfront king balcony. We arrived early and were able to check in. The Bed was extremely comfortable. The air conditioning was almost nonexistent.....we had notified the front staff and the maintenance worker arrived quickly and said he fixed the problem (not really) the cleanliness of our room was very questionable. The couch needed updating/replacing. The view was amazing. Staff was friendly.

Room Tip: Balcony oceanfront

We stayed here in January as a last minute decision. We drove from Ontario to Miami, and decided to stop for a few days in Daytona. We found this hotel on the internet and decided to see if they had rooms available. The front check in was incredibly helpful and nice (they made suggestions to my daughter of where to see manatees in the wild - which she loves), the room was beautiful (we had ocean front) and the bathroom was clean and spacious. My daughter who is 11, also loved this hotel - especially the fire pits and s'mores kits provided. The valet staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We only stayed for 2 nights, but we plan on making another visit for a longer stay.

I stayed in a Lanai room and enjoyed it immensely. The hotel itself is loaded with amenities, 24 hour room service, spa and a nice out door bar. In the evenings they light fire pits out on deck that I thought was a very cool touch.

Anytime my husband and I want to getaway our #1 choice is the shores, we love the cleanliness and the staff and the ambiance. The pool is wonderful, the tiki bar is wonderful and the breakfast is also wonderful. We have stayed 4 times now and are booked for a 5th trip, and we are both in the hospitality industry so that should say a lot. They did mess up our honeymoon booking (they were doing construction and our room was messed up and we had to wait for a new room) BUT they were great about it and as helpful and apologetic as possible - hey stuff happens we won't let that turn us away, after all we are all human. We love this place for family or romance. If you are visiting Daytona this is the best place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony.
