“Money Well Spent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2009

Beautiful, clean room. They honor if you rebook at a later date the same price. (unheard of). Very caring , attentive staff members. A special thank you to "Laura" Manager our relationship began the moment we booked. Came from MD to visit friends in Palm Coast and celebrate my 45th birthday. Everything you could want in a place to stay away from home. I have it on good authority that their mattresses are sent out regularly to be cleaned. We enjoyed cooking in our room in our kitchen. (Winn Dixe thanks). Iloved the access to the beach, my husband loved the free happy hour each night. We would return.
Also notified all our family and friends .God Bless the staff! Pass on room service/pricey.

Went to Daytona with a Little League team to watch a Daytona Cubs game. About 7 families stayed at the Bahama House. The staff was wonderful, the rooms clean, and well kept. The location is wonderful. An overall great time with family & friends.

Staff was friendly, check in was easy. Parking is good, can park outside or underground. I wouldn't say the neighborhood is bad like other reviewers but it is not as nice as Daytona Beach area (we learned the area of this hotel is Daytona Shores). We felt safe. Elevator was clean and fast.

Our room was an Oceanfront Efficiency. Spent the extra money thinking we would use the kitchen to cook meals and hang out on what they call their 'furnished' balcony. The view is AMAZING! We were on the sixth floor and pelicans flew by our balcony all day. Furnished means 2 plastic cheapy chairs and a little table. That was a BUMMER!
Also, at night sitting out there we were attacked by mosquitos (no fault of the hotel of course, but bring bug spray!). Room was a good size. Not small by any means.

This is what brings my 'value' rating down on this hotel. I was expecting a few pots and pans, cooking utensils, full size coffee pot (like efficiencies or timeshares we have stayed in before).
What they provide is one 3 qt. glass pot with lid, one small skillet and a 2 quart covered pot with holes in the top (colander built in). Utensils: spatula, spoon and slotted spoon. No toaster. 4 cup coffee pot - and they only provide ONE pouch of coffee per day (enough for one 4 cup pot). I was REALLY disappointed! I couldn't have even made a pan of spaghetti (can you brown meat in a glass pot?)!

Bathrooms were so-so. I took pictures of a couple things in room including bathroom. Shower had a clean version of mildew. I know, what does that mean? You'll see the caulking is stained from mildew but there was none growing. Granite counter nice enough and everything was clean but it felt alittle old. Hope that makes sense. Layers and layers of paint feeling.

Beds were comfortable enough, pillows okay - alittle flat, but some people like that. They provided a portable crib that our 2 year old slept good in.

Continental breakfast okay - standard breads, cereals, fruits and drinks. Other places we stay have yogurts, waffles other stuff but not here. Happy hour they provide drinks and pretzels and popcorn.

We did not use the pool but there were always people in it. We were there for the beach. No grills here either.

We walked onto the beach from the hotel and rented a golf cart type thing for $40 (for an hour) and cruised up and down the beach. REALLY FUN! Great way to see all the beach and hotels.

I guess with all the hype about this hotel on TripAdvisor I expected alot more than what it was. We paid $162/night and I really could have gotten a fantastic hotel room on Daytona Beach for that. The kitchen, for us, wasn't worth the extra money - just too limited on what you could possibly do. Maybe bring a crockpot? I don't know, maybe other people are more kitchen crafty than me but they just don't provide good tools.
Staff member did give us the name of a GREAT restaurant about 5 miles away - Aunt Catfish's ... go there! Great fresh fish and lot's of people, right on the water.

It was clean, it is in a great location, the view is super great but I don't think we would stay here again.

We had stayed at this hotel last summer (2008) as well, and this stay was just okay. The room seemed much nicer last year. The front desk staff was VERY friendly and helpful !!!! The security staff was NOT !!! (i RECIEVED A RUDE PHONE CALL FROM ONE OF THEM AT MIDNIGHT !!!) Not only did he not apologize for waking me up, he was unbelievably RUDE !!!!!!) other than that the stay was okay.

We don't live to far from Daytona Beach and wanted to get away for a couple of days and get a room overlooking the ocean, after checking two other hotels nearby that had tremendous prices for an ocean view room we found the Bahama House, it is a great price and a big clean room and we had a great view of the ocean!! The service was wonderful, and extra perks include a cocktail hour, cookies, continental breakfast and a little goody bag!! I definitely recommend this hotel!
