We stayed in unit 505, which is a penthouse unit. We rented it through one of the private owners, based upon the good ratings from previous TripAdvisor reviews. After reading all the very diverse ratings, we didn't know what to expect and held our breaths as we opened the door to the unit. I was shocked! It was far nicer than the pictures that the agent had sent us, and so much roomier than I'd expected. There was a foyer in which you entered, a long hallway with the bathroom and huge bedroom with two queens at the far end. On the opposite side of the split planned unit, there was a very comfortable murphy bed in the living room, and the kitchen was gorgeously tiled with very fashionable furniture. The closet was as large as another room, and there were no less than 3 huge ones. We have stayed in timeshare many times previously, but those in Daytona left much to be desired. I am very pleased to say that this was as nice...if not nicer...than any of the timeshares we've been in Daytona. The agent, Stephanie Jones, from Hawaiian208, made sure that we had an adequate supply of everything...in fact, there was overkill. I would return to the Hawaiian Inn penthouse in a heartbeat!! Where else could you find a unit that can sleep 6 people so comfortably for under $700 a week? You people that give the Hawaiian such horrific reviews need to stay with the private owners. The units are a world apart from the front desk units. Our friends booked a unit from the front desk, and it left a lot to be desired. I've never been so utterly pleased, and boy, were our friends p-----!

We are owners of unit 212 - we pride ourselves in keeping our room up to date (just bought a new sofabed and refrigerator). We love the view, and as owners, use our room at least once a month to make sure it looks good and clean. And, every time we use our unit we notice the fun that guests are having. We encourage you to try Hawaiian Inn.

Just returned from a four day stay in room 317. The hotel is old and can use some updates. The ice machine did not work at all on the third floor, I had to go to the second floor for ice. The room was old but spacious and it was clean as well as the bathroom and kitchen. The appliances were in very good shape. House keeping was very good and when I returned to my room each day I found it had been cleaned, vaccumed, and restocked with fresh towels. The view of the pool area and ocean from my room was worth the stay. The pool area was cleaned and well maintained and staff was constantly cleaning the grounds and main lobby. It appeared as though some work was being done due to the storms from 2004. I would stay at this hotel again. The staff was very nice when checking and leaving.

We just spent a week at the Hawaiian Inn in Daytona Beach. The good news was, it had a beautiful view of the ocean and it was less than 10 miles from the Speedway which was why were were there.

Other than than, it was a dive. The elevator and hallways were filthy; the linens were thread bare and well worn (towels and blankets). Most of the small appliances in the kitchen were jury rigged with an extension cord draped across the kitchen (microwave, toaster, blender). The paint was peeling, the baste boards beat up and eaten away, cracked and broken. The iron was so bad we could not use it; vacume cleaner did not work and was very old and beat up. Furniture was oversized for the rooms and throw pillows were placed on top of everything to cover up stains. We were very disappointed in the overall condition of things and would not recommend it to other travellers.

We stayed at the Hawaiian Inn for spring break with our daughters, ages 20, 18, and 14. The girls loved the DJ at the pool and liked the fact that there were lots of other kids their age there. It provided a safe party atmosphere for them. My husband & I found it relaxing and we liked the tiki bar and the convenience of being on the beach, which was beautiful.
Our condo was clean, well stocked, and nicely decorated. We rented from a private owner, and the only suggestion for improvement that we would make would be that we would have liked to have access to a phone in the room and maybe a midweek towel exchange option. We would have been glad to have arranged to pay more in advance. I laundered our bath towels three times that week in the laundry room at the hotel. Also, it would have been wonderful to have a key to access the door that led to the pool/beach area. The owner was quite nice and checked in with us to make sure that everything was ok. We thought that the unit was extremely reasonably priced and a good value.
The hotel grounds are nice and the pool is clean, although not heated (in April, it was quite cold).
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and our daughters would love to go back.
