The place is easy to spot - the one with the giant sun on the building.

The location is excellent, right near the boardwalk, on the beach, yadda yadda. There is also a mini-fridge and a microwave, so yay for that. The pool is also nice.

However, the goodness stops there.

The rooms are dirty, with many problems. Ants had basically taken over our rooms, climbing in and out of the fridge. Not to mention the giant spider we caught wandering around the room more than once [before I unleashed the power of God on him]. The water pressure in the shower was unbearably heavy, more like being repeatedly slapped than feeling a stream of water. The toilet would not flush properly and would have to be manually re-set every time. Complaints to the front desk about the ants + water + toilet were met with "We'll be up in awhile". The solution was to spray some bug spray along the floor - and that's it. The toilet/shower problems were never addressed. The balcony is old and looks as though it will collapse under your feet.

While the location was nice and we actually got away with paying a fairly cheap price, the place was NOT worth wasting our time at. Stay away from this hole.

“Good location, terrible Motel!”

Don't be fooled! This is a MOTEL, not a hotel!! If you like a hot (or even warm) shower, don't stay here. We were with a group of about 25 other families. Only 3 reported ever being able to get the water warmer than luke warm. Only two of the seven ice makers are working. The tub/shower was not very clean. Several people in our group had to call maintenance for various reasons (heat and safe not working). I have stayed in many hotels in many places and this was one of the worst I have stayed in.

The Ocean Deck restaurant next door was a great little place to eat or drink!

Be careful the internet pictures and information TOTALLY misrepresented this bomb hotel. Well not if you want a hotel for instance think Spring Break circa 1980s with slum-like surrounding buildings as your view. It was 90 degrees in the reception area on check in with the utterly rude blonde counter staffer! Even though the room was not that bad because it appeared clean, the eatery never opened all weekend even though the internet site as well as the sign on the all outside the door said it would be. Funny thing this hotel has signs up by the counter or above/next to doors at check in time such as stay for late check out and things like that or the eatery will be open and they TAKE THEM DOWN? As if they weren't there Friday because they are removed by Sunday? And the so-called pool-side bar what a joke it was a kiosk at best, but nothing compared to the tiny parking lot not made for today's autos. No made for large trucks, mini or large SUVS, or ANY long vehicles. Yet it was the LACK OF PARKING you had the "luxury" of one car parking spot per room and there was NOT enough even for that rule and so many times we had to park in dim lit, notorously known tow away zones several blocks away and walk! We paid the same amount for the room per night as friends who stayed at the 5 star hotels up the road hotels with spas, real bars and eateries that were actually opened, professionally behaved staff and properly attired, which had valet and amble parking. The hotel it was just horribly misrepresented online and was NOTHING as pictures and words described it is near a Bubba's...a shopping center....NOT Bubb Gump Shimp Co as the pictures make you think nor s th lazy river even their pool their pool needs to badly be resufaced. So FYI don't fall prey to this hotel! *Pictures are forthcoming!

“Nice location”

Had two rooms, both non smoking, for dates in August. The hotel is a lttle older than some but rooms are clean, lobby clean and an adequate free breakfast in the morning.
The desk staff was friendly, patient and helpful. Parking is very limited and tight spaces--but seems that every place is the same.
Hotel was quiet, right on the beach. Have stayed at other hotels at the Beach.
Hotel is a good value for your $$$$

The hotel is not the newest on the strip, but its not the oldest either. We stayed there over a long weekend and enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and easy check in and check out. Cleaning service was good. The room we stayed in was clean and showed NO moldy smell. We had a side view which was fine b/c we had a good view of Ocean Deck Club below us and the Ocean. The only negative was the water pipes would howl at times, and the elevators are slow. A positive is that no traffic exists in front of this hotel, except emergency vehicles. I give this hotel an average/above average compared to the hotels adjacent to the Mayan. I would probably stay here again.
