we live here in daytona, we always take our guest three or four times a year to the lighthouse, however the last time was a big mistake, we had a two hour wait, when we got our food, the red potatoes were raw, the fish, hush puppies and etc,, was cold, we were so hungry, we did manage to eat some of our food, of course not the raw potatoes..we talked to the manager, she knocked off the raw potatoes...but would not give us a discount off the cold food..she was very rude...we had 12 people with us that evening...they will not get our business again ! she said we ate the food, so we pay...my god, if you are hungry you will try and eat the food, regardless cold or whatever....we are sorry we had this bad experence ..but your manager and servers tell the whole story...'DOWN THE HATCH' is one of the places we will take our visiting guests....

We were at the light house restaurant last year in March with 4 kids ages 12-14 and my husband and myself. We had about a half hour wait (not bad at all given that we were there during Spring Break and right at dinner rush hour) but since they have a great gift shop and Music playing outside, we were entertained until it was time to be seated.
The service was wonderful and the food awesome. We had a couple of mixed drinks (I got one in the coconut head) that were really good. the waitress was very patient with the questions the kids had about some of the menu items.
I have recommended this restaurant to others that are heading down to Daytona and we will definately be going back when we head there ourselves in June...

We eat at this quirky little place every year. It has a huge charm about it. We call it the tree house restaurant. There is a huge Magnolia tree I believe growing right thru the patio of this decked eatery. There are thousands of hand made signs adorning the entire walls and ceiling of this place. They have funny, sarcastic one liners on them. There is plenty of wildlife mingling with the patrons. Squirrels and chipmunks will come right up to you and take a cracker. You are sitting along side a pier. It is very casual. There is no need to dress up for this place. The food is average and yes slow. However there is plenty to see and do while you wait. It is more a destination than a dinning experience. The kids love it, we love it and go every year. Everytime we drive down the coast, thru the little community and end up there our guest are in utter joy when visiting this little hidden gem.

A trip to Ponce Inlet to go to this restaurant is well worth it. the entire area is beautiful and you will experience everything Florida is supposed to be! the restaurants decor is like no other I've ever been to...clean, comfortable, funny, interesting - you can see the history ! The food is delicious and if you like to try new things....this is the place to do it - you will love everything!!!! During the day you can relax on the dock under the trees and watch boats go by, or the fish jumping in the canal - as the light goes down - turn up the jute box with its great choice of music and sit back and watch the sun go down to Jimmy Buffet!!! Not just a meal, a great time!!!!
