“The WORST and the most unprofessional Chef”

Rosario Ristorante

The WORST and the most unprofessional Chef at ROSARIO'S RESTORANTE in DAYTONA BEACH FL. Recently, on a Friday night ordered the Chef's Special a rib-eye and grouper. The grouper was over done and the steak was a sirloin, not a rib-eye. The waiter promptly got the chef, owner. All he could say was, this is Black Angus and this is Black Grouper! He was outraged that his meal was questioned. The chef never offered another dish or apology. Whatever happened to the customer is always right. Oh yes the police was called! Yes, the bill $64.00 was paid - for over cooked grouper and a sirloin. Mr. Rosario needs to learn the Black Angus is a grade of beef, not the cut. The meal was much better a Ruby Tuesdays across the street.

“Very Good Northern Italian”

This is the best northern Italian food I've had in Daytona. There was a good choice of entrees and some unique appetizers. The price was not cheap, but the portions were more than adequate. I had 2 glasses of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 1 dessert ran about $70 and I was stuffed. The only complaint I had was our waiter was a little slow.

“They charge What?”

Rosario Ristorante

Jan 15, 2007

I am not opposed to spending some money for great food, exotic dishes, etc. I am opposed to spending $22 for a pasta dish--and a very generic one at that! The only thing that I enjoyed about my experience was our waitor was fantastic and the wine was overpriced, but very good. There are other places to go in Daytona to get a far superior meal at a much more reasonible price, but if you want four or five-star, take the time and drive to Orlando.

“Moved Again”

Rosario Ristorante

Jan 4, 2007

Rosario's has moved yet again. Is now in the first floor of a timehare/condo/hotel on A1A at the North end of Daytona Beach.

The food is almost always excellent but they can fall apart when really busy. They probably take more reservations than they should.

We travel to Daytona frequently, and most trips include a night of dining at Rosario's. It is a small, family owned and operated restaurant located on the ground floor of The Live Oak Inn (a B&B that I think is also operated by the Vinci family). The food is great, as is the service. No matter how well-traveled you think you are, give it a try. At the very least you will leave satisfied. More than likely you'll leave very impressed. One cautionary note: the dining room is rather small and is more suited for romantics and business dinners than for families with small children -- though when I took my own 2 and 5 year olds, the Vinci's were most gracious and accommodating.
