First of all, let me say that if this restaurant would be in a major city, it would probably rate a 4 or 4 1/2 instead of 5. But Daytona is a wasteland when it comes to restaurants, and this one is one of the few that is consistently excellent. It is located in an old B&B, a quiet location not far from the river. The service is usually good, but the food has always been excellent. Been there about a dozen times. If you like an Italian touch to fish, the grouper livornese, with chopped tomatoes, black olives, capers, and herbs is excellent. Pasta dishes, such as the penne arribiatta, can be made as spicy as you want. The steak manhattan, made with bourbon, is fantastic, although one of the more expensive items on the menu. One caution: when you see the "specials" on the board coming in, this means the DISH is special, NOT the price; they tend to be the most expensive items on the menu. The last time I was there, entrees ran approximately $15 to $25. The included salad included a nice selection of baby greens and a wonderful house dressing. They give you a bowl of olive oil with submerged garlic to dip your bread in, which is also very good. Nice wine list, but like every other restaurant, not cheap for wine. Desserts are very good, too.
To sum up, this is one of only a handful of restaurants in the Daytona area that I can bring a visitor to without worrying if the food is going to be good (the other is probably Stonewood Tavern).
