My husband and I with our 3 kids went there because we have heard that it was good. The description should have been GREAT!! The water views is awesome. We saw dolphins and our kids were soooooo excited. We are going to Universal Studios this year and are making a trip to Daytona just because we want to eat at this place!! Go there and you will have a great time!!

Met up with friends and they suggested "Down the Hatch" - I was impresssed by the food, service and the outside wild life. Dolphins swimming outside the window and birds flying around and in the water looking for food. When I visit Daytona again, I will go back for another round of food and relaxing time.

I really don't want to write a review because people may find this place. I enjoy going at sunset and sitting on the deck overlooking the water, sipping maragritas, watching the fishing boats coming in and all the other boats going by, listening to the band playing layed back songs and eating a dinner of fresh fish. Its all about the ambiance - certainly not the hectic pace of all the tourists traps around.

Hadn't eaten at Down The Hatch in a long while. Never thought it was something to really write home about (except for the water views and wildlife). Ate there recently and told it was under new ownership. Not sure how long under new ownership, but food was GREAT, service much better, cleaner and even nicer views. Looks like the new owners put some well needed improvements in the place. New tables, floating docks, lights, etc. Met the owner who was walking around asking folks how they liked it. He seemed real involved and caring. What a great place to have a nice seafood dinner and watch nature at it's best. We'll be going back.
