Seafood tasted like frozen (not fresh) seafood that was overcooked. Nice atmosphere, good staff, but not worth the price.

We went to see what Down the Hatch was all about.... They weren't busy when we were there, the waitresses weren't in any hurry to wait on us. Granted we only ordered something to drink so we could check out the dock and boats going by, but it was like they couldn't be bothered. We even had to flag down the waitress to pay her. I can't imagine trying to eat there if they were busy...... Good place to have a soft drink and watch the boats, if you aren't too thirsty and don't care to wait.

My partner and I went to DTH to eat on the recommendation of others and I remember my parents took me there as a kid. I will rate our experience as positive, which is hard to get from me since I eat out most of the time.

The service was good, although I would like to have seen the server at the table for follow-up and drink refills a bit quicker.

Food quality was excellent, however being this close to the ocean I felt $9.95 was a couple of dollars more than it should have been for a shrimp cocktail.

Don't expect Coke products; they have Pepsi :-( <<shew>>>

I read some complaints here about a long wait to be seated. We were there around 5:30pm and did not have a wait. The server advised that the wait times would be a lot longer after Memorial Day. I think it would be good to go there early, and call ahead to ask specific questions and make sure your needs will be met.

We will go back, but will be more conservative with ordering cause we simply pigged out!

My parents had gone to Down the Hatch years ago and it was great. So when me, my brother, my parents and my aunt and uncle went to Daytona for the weekend we had to go to Down the Hatch. Well we soon realized it was not what my parents remembered. We waited for almost 2 hours before we finally got our food. Let me say this, it was 5 pm so it was not that busy yet. When we did get our food our waitress , which had an attitude the entire night, brought out everybodies food except mine and my dads. She then told us our food was ready but she just didn't have room for it on the tray and she'd be right back with it. About 15 minutes later she brought our food out barely warm. My mom had ordered the Blackened grouper ceaser salad and the grouper was good but the dressing they put on it was disgusting. My mom ended up sending it back and the manager came out to talk to her about it and then we told him about the other problems we had had and all he did was make excuses about everything. Then we were fixing to leave, we were already at the front door and I guess the waitress was not happy with the tip she received so she followed us to the door and loudly and nastily said "Thanks guys for the tip, but it wasnt my fault". It was an all around bad experience and we will none be going back and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
