The ad stated NEW! This place was gutted, but I can not say it is any better than when it was a Motel 6....
States that their rooms are no smoking, yet our room reeked of cigarette smoke
Web site states that room includes complimentary newspaper, no newspaper or newsstand on the premises. Closest newsstand was 200 yards away.
The rooms have kitchens. In the kitchen there is a message taped above the sink that states for any unclean dishes left, there will be an additional $35 charge. Dish soap is included, but no dish rack or cleaning implements to really clean the dishes in an effective and sanitary way.
Air Conditioner did not work properly. Our room temperature waned between 75-80 degrees.
Web site states 2 HBO channels. We could only get one, which was the HBO Family channel.
Rooms do not have racks to hang your towels on.
Room service is non-existent. When calling the front desk for extra towels or ironing board you are asked to come to the office and pick them up yourself.
Restaurant is really a snack bar. Very good finger food, but for a real meal you need to leave the premises.
Continental breakfast is coffee, orange juice, bagel or donut. No water, nothing else.
Whirlpool baths are very nice, though placement is next to the window for the benefit of an ocean view and a swimming pool view. Anyone can glance up and see you bathing, so you have to keep the curtains closed.

After I had already paid my first nights deposit - I found this site and read the reviews. I was worried sick that I had made a horrible choice in hotels. The hotel we had always stayed at in Daytona had been demolished by the hurricane. After arriving we found that the parking situation had been taken care of by use of valet parking. The "urine" smell in the hallway had been taken care of by the removal of carpet. I was a little disappointed in the fact that we did not receive the room we had reserved but we were placed in an equally nice room. The staff could use some lessons in working with the public but all in all - we enjoyed our stay. The location of this hotel made up for the "boo-boo's" made. Our room was kept extremely clean. We never lack towels. The pool could have been a little cleaner. Iguana Sam's was yuck. I think the best part of our room was the full glass wall over looking the ocean.

We use to stay at this motel when it was Econolodge, and loved it.
Boardwalk looks better now on the outside. The hall ways do smell like old urine and or dirty socks, they are in need of some cosmetic repair.
We stayed in the what they call the honeymoon suite. The room was not what one would expect for a honeymoon suite. The bedroom being able to shut off from the rest of the room is nice. The kitchen is very tiny but for us that was not a problem. It was very noisy and this was not during any peak times. Parking is a problem and they have you park 2 or 3 deep and if you want to leave and you in first, you out of luck. The room was mostly clean. I am one of these people that look under matress and under the couch and stuff. It wasn't too bad. Water pressure for showers is bad.
TV is real limited on choices of channels. I did have to clean my own room as maid service never came around,,,when i did see their cart out, i grabbed some clean towels. The view is great,,, the location is tremendous, but with the price involved,,,,i expect and want more. I paid $180 a night on off season.
Oh, yes, there was a "working woman" by the pool, I did complain to the front desk about this,,, they just said "really?"

I stayed the first 2 nights they re-opened from the hurricanes, which was the beginning of speedweeks at Daytona Speedway. My room was the least expensive of their offerings, it was quite small, but they had just renovated it (new carpet smell) so it was very clean and I was OK with it. It had a frig, and I like their location. Their TV channels were giving them problems, so if it's important to you ask about it first. I found their front desk staff to be very friendly. Under $100 per night during the Rolex24, which is better than many.
