Based on the old reviews, it does not sound like much has changed. We just got back from this "Resort" and it was a horrible experience. The expression, "you get what you pay for" almost fits this hotel. Except I think $90 per night is overpriced for this hotel. If you like roaches and rude service this is the place for you. I met the new management and they were very rude to customers and their own employees. The employees could care less about complaints like rust, mold, food in sink, late wake up calls, no clocks, broken drawers, roaches (not palmetto bugs), disgusting pool, and an elevator I wouldn't put my worst enemy in. I agree with the other comments about he "Continental Breafast" which consisted of a muffin and coffee and that's if you are early. The only reasons to stay here is because of the oceanview and the fact that they allow pets (but I see why). It can't get much worse.

I almost did not book this room because of bad reviews, but I took a chance and was very pleased. This is an older hotel...do not expect the Ritz Carlton...some of the appliances were worn and rusty (normal for an older beachfront place)...but the hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly...I thought it was a good room at a good bargain. If all you want is a bed by the beach...it is great!

Carpet is old and worn. doors dont fit. bathroom sink pipes broken, water flowing onto the carpet. couch smelled like dog. room smelled like there was a gas leak. My girlfriend and I had headaches for 2 days. and let me tell you, the inside of the rooms are the hi-lites of this place. outside, its just plain scary. no lights, creepy dark staircases that look like they lead down a prison corridor, elevator that makes you break out your prayer book cuz it makes noises and is filthy. as for quality, theres rooms that are all boarded up, room #s written in pen on the door, no shampoo in the shower, holes in the comforter on the bed, color tv in the bedroom was struggling to produce black and white!, ridiculously loud a/c unit that drowns out the tv and the outside ocean...the kitchen looks nothing like the ad...our refrigerator and lights werent plugged in, the kitchen floor looked like it was burned by somebody, and the oven was from 1953. I wouldnt cook YOUR food there...plus remember it smelled like gas the 1st day....on the plus side you do get a refrigerator (once you plug it in), safe, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots and pans (again, those are from 1953) and you get 7 yes 7 chairs strewn about...I paid $119/nt and this was their top of the line suite and the girl who checked us in said "wow, you guys are getting my favorite suite!" if thats her favorite I would hate to see something she didnt like...

I too went down to the Daytona 500. Booked this hotel based on the website which is a total lie... I had cockroaches in my room, rusty pipes, mold and mildew everywhere. The door going out to what was supposed to be a ocean view, it was a parking lot view at best, was a new door but not fitted. I had to pound on the door with my fist to get it to open and then I spent a half hour trying to get it locked again. The other door wasn't any better. Twice while there I had to search for the owner for him to come and fix the door lock so I could get in the room. Friends stayed in another room had all the same problems. Their room was totally unlocked one day because the locks wouldn't work. We all came home with sinus problems from the mold and mildew. Wouldn't have stayed there if I would've had time to find something else. I wasn't going to miss the races

Ok first off this hotel if freaking GROSS. We went for Daytona 500 and we paid $150 a night for this hotel. We got there and there was a couple in the lobby saying they haven't had hot water for a week! So we get up to our room and our room number was written in sharpie marker and there was no locks on the door anyone can just come in. We get inside and there is no remote for the tv its a turn dial.. and the ice bucket looks like a ice cream tub. The cups in the ice bucket were not wrapped up. We went into the bathroom and we turned on our water and it came out orange with piles of dirt.. GROSS.. and then as we let it run to see if we had hot water.. i looked down and there was a hole that was rusted out of the pipe and water was pouring all over the floor. We checked the toliet and there was dry pee all over it and tampon wrappers in the trash can. The sheets had numerous stains on them.. the carpet wasn't even clean. It was a down right rip off we ended up just turning our key in and drove around on the beach for 2 hours until we found another hotel... we are still trying to get our money back!
