“Not a family destination hotel.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

We decided to take a quick weekend trip to Daytona Beach and wanted a value hotel that was clean and family friendly. In the past we've stayed at The Shores and had a great experience. However, they were sold out and based on Trip Advisor ratings, we tried The Lexington. Unfortunately we will not be back. The main reason was the hotel's clientele. There was a traveling basketball team of high school students that were up all night and yelling at each other from their balconies and harassing other guests. Since we were traveling with three small children, needless to say this was not pleasant. The hotel staff did not handle them appropriatly and should have called the police. They also monopolized the free breakfast bar and were rude to other guests that were waiting in line for more than 30 minutes while they made multiple waffles. The room was clean, but not well insulated and you could hear EVERYTHING going on outside. It had been refurbished, but was still in need of a new toilet, peeling paint and a patio door that wouldn't close all the way. I'd spend the extra few dollars and find a nicer hotel with a more family atmosphere.

My husband and I stayed here for one night to rest from a long drive. The room was clean and while we didn't stay in an ocean view room, we walked around the corridor to get a pretty view which was nice before continuing our trip. There was breakfast included but we did not have any because one of the hotel guests was sick and was coughing all over everything (not the hotel's fault). The only flaw was the parking. We arrived on a Saturday night and we got the last parking space in the whole lot, and there were other people looking for spaces as well.

Although the hotel is an older one, the maintenance staff is actively tending to details every day. From the Asst. General Manager, Denise Glandorf, to the breakfast staff and housekeeping staff, were all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is ON the beach and comfortably away from the boardwalk. The room was very clean and the balcony was terrific. You cannot beat this place for the money...anywhere!
My family and I really enjoyed ourselves.
I hope that I'm not shooting myself in the foot with this review. Please don't raise the rates and get TOO popular. We want to come again!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights for a short weekend trip to the beach. The hotel sits on the strip in Daytona Shores. We had room 522, a city view room with no balcony and our window over looked the strip. I was told the room was non-smoking, however, when we opened the door, the smoke smell hit us like a brick. I went back to the front desk and was informed this was the only room available for the rate I booked. The room had a queen bed which was very comfortable, but their pillows need replacing. Included was a table with 2 chairs, a fridge, closet and a great flat screen tv. The bathroom was good, however the toilet needed to be secured to the floor a little tighter. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast including hot scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy and bisquits, a waffle maker and a variety of breads and juices and great coffee. The toaster was slow, but worked. The hotel has a nice, clean pool, kiddie pool, sun deck overlooking the beach and great beach access. Parking is free, but tight on space. Overall, I would visit again, but maybe upgrade to an ocean view or ocean front room. It does offer free wi-fi, but was not working.

Stayed one night at the Lexington Inn as the first stop. We arrived late in the evening to find out that there were High School Baseball and Cheerleading teams staying at the hotel. Figured this would be a restful evening for my family and I... We were checked in with no problems and found the room with ease. They are an older hotel so there was very little parking available and tight to move a vehicle around in their parking lot. Room was nice, we stayed in a suite with two rooms which the layout was pretty tight but roomy enough for us. All was well until about 2am when the High Schoolers apparently came to life, then it was loud for quite awhile (window was on the balcony so sound travelled right on through). In the morning we were up early as the whole point of being in Daytona Beach was for our children to see the ocean for the first time. They have a great location on the beach, best part! Pool area was nice and clean, the maintenance guy was all over the place in the morning getting things in order (he literally had to wear many hats in the little time we were there) so they do work hard at this. I would consider staying at this hotel again if I knew it was not occupied by visting high school groups.

Room Tip: Suite was able to sleep a family of five with an additional adult

I was looking for a room at the beach that was cheaper than the Hilton but still nice. This hotel is older and not luxurious but still clean and the rooms were recently remodeled. The rooms were clean, contemporary and comfy. I was surprised at the great rate we got for an oceanfront room.

Wasn't sure what this property would be like. It was a great surprise, the rooms were clean and bug free! The cleaning ladys were so super nice to us I almost couldn't believe it. usally the cleaninng staff act like you not worth there time, but here they wanted to make your stay great!! The breakfast was good, they were always filling and cleaning. Great front desk stopped in to ask questions about area and they were more than helpful.
The rooms were so close to the beach you really couldn't have a bad location, but the ones facing ocean and on bottom floor were worth every cent just for the convience of it. The parking is not great at all but if you back in you will be very glad you did when you pull out! i would stay here again!

Room Tip: bottom front is a breat location but not really a bad room location... I wouldn't want to be on...
