There is a museum with lots of history to check out, games to play, and a theater experience as well. You can also take a tour of the track. I've heard mixed reviews of the tour. Mine was great. We rode the tram out around the track and visited victory lane for pictures. We stopped and got an up-close view of the 31 degree banking around the track as well. Others apparently weren't as lucky and didn't have such a good time. Best thing I can suggest is to talk to the tour guides beforehand. Sometimes they can't go certain places because it seems there is always SOMETHING going on around the speedway.
I think it was a lot of fun and also a great learning experience. Little kids may not be as into it. It might seem like a museum to them after a while, though your experience may vary. Older kids into teens would probably dig it a little more.
I will say this though - one visit is probably enough. We have gone multiple times and not much changed over the years. The biggest difference is whose car is on display as the most recent Daytona 500 winner. So unless you are REALLY into NASCAR history, one visit will probably satisfy you.
