Just returned from a 12 day stay at Fountain Beach Resort and I have to say I did not agree with one of the reviews for suite 501. I pretty much based my choice from what the person said about it and the many pictures they posted made the room seem almost perfect. The view was pretty amazing though. We are not picky people and can tolerate some flaws. But some of these flaws took away from the lovely view. The lights in the master bath over the sink didn't work at all and they finally came to fix them the day before we left. Had to go in the living room area to put on makeup and dry hair. The half bath was so tiny you could barely move and the shower didn't work very well. Got up one morning to find the water shut off. Took half the day to come back on. The air conditioner in the living room area was broken for the first 3 days. The kitchen is so tiny you can barely move and very dirty. The laundry facility had 2 washers & 2 dryers and one of the dryers was out of service off and on. The futons in the living room are filthy on both sides was afraid to sit on them thank goodness they provided two small covers so we put those on the seat to sit on. The lock on the door entering the unit is very poorly installed. And sometimes we couldn't get it to lock at all and that is the only lock on the door. Thank goodness my husband brought some tools along so he was able to tighten it up a bit. But it really needs to be replaced entirely. The whole unit needs a really good cleaning. The walk to the pier was wonderful and it really is a good location. The restaurant is still closed. Would not stay there again unless they completely renovated the unit.

We stayed at the Fountain Beach for a quick weekend getaway. This hotel is exactly what we needed. We had a King size bed and pull ot sofa for the kids. There was a small kitchenette with a frig, micro and toaster oven. The room was clean, the halls could use a little work.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We loved the pool and the beach. Location is everything.

We booked again for the end of July.

We found the Fountain Beach Resort to be clean and offered two full size beds and a tv/vcr/dvd combo in the large room. The bathroom was extremely small and the unit only offered a small kitchenette. One of my disappointments with the resort is that they do not disclose on their website that the Pub and Tiki-Bar are closed. While that isn't why we chose to stay there, it would've been good to know. The pool was large although food and beverages are not allowed in that area. Also, the elevators are very slow when they're working at all. FBR is located on a fairly busy area of the beach and near a major intersection so this location isn't suggested for someone looking for quiet times. However, for the price we paid for the week, it was worth it. Also, you have easy access to the major highways, the airport and Daytona International Speedway. I will enclose a photo of the view from our unit.

I really enjoyed my stay, and can't wait to go back and visit again. Although it is an older place with some problems here and there, my friend and i found it to be a great place. On our 2nd day there we had a problem with our key not wanting to work the staff was friendly and very quick to respond to our needs. I loved the fact that it was so close to everything in town. I would recomend this place to everyone i know.
