Extremely friendly staff, clean rooms and facilities. We stayed Ocean Front on the lower level with walk out to the pool and the beach. Will definately stay again, had an excellent time.

After booking a package on line with Allegiant Airline, I decided to go on line and check some of the feedback from other guests. I will admit that I was a bit nervous after reading most. I was relieved to find a clean room and courtious staff upon arrival. We requested a non smoking room and that was what we got (2nd floor). The only complaint was no hot water the first morning, and the hallways were pretty run down. We had some unruley hallway guests at about 1:30 am Friday night, but it didn't last long. Much nicer than the Ocean Sands (where we stayed last year). It was nice to have beach access from the pool area and public access from the parking area. Limited resturants within walking distance (BBQ at 100 N. Atlantic has good food at reasonable prices). A $4.75 charge for parking and safe, (not fully disclosed until arrival) but didn't have a problem finding parking. We were there during the NCA/NDA Cheer and Dance Nationals and the entire hotel district was packed. I would recommend to someone wanting beach access at a reasonable rate, understanding that this isn't a 3 or 4 star hotel.
Other than the location and staff there isn't much lovely about Conch House Hotel. Though the coffee in reception is pretty good!
If ever a place cried out for a facelift its this hotel. First impression was one of "urgh"! But having stayed there for a week I got used to it. The bedding was clean - and changed mid-week. The usable bits of the bathroom were cleaned daily - if required. I took slippers with me to use for walking around the room (having read previous reviews) and was glad I did as the carpets throughout the hotel need pulling up as they reak of past smokers, are grubby everywhere and becoming quite threadbare.
The one over-riding good thing about the hotel are the staff. Whether they be on reception or part of the maintenance/cleaning teams. Always courteous, always helpful and always smiling! Thank you to you all.
The front desk clerk was very sweet and accomodating with what she had to work with! This was the overflow hotel for our recent Jaycee conference. I was shocked when reading the reviews prior to arrival. Yes, it is in bad condition but for the price, it is just fine! It really needs a deep cleaning and a little tender loving care.
I booked this hotel using Hotwire.com and as soon as I found out the name and looked up the reviews online, I was very apprehensive. I called the hotel directly to ask if there were indeed as many problems as the reviews implied and the staff was very honest. They admitted that they had palmetto bugs (think roaches on steroids), but that it was common in Florida. I wrote to Hotwire and explained my concerns and skepticism over this being a 2 star hotel, but went anyway because I couldn't afford to pay for another room on top of this one. Indeed, there was black mold in the shower, trash between the bed and wall, and a TERRIBLE smell coming from the heater. The bedspreads were stained and there was hair in the bed when I turned down the covers. The carpets are disgusting, and although the hotel claims that it's an installation mistake, I'm pretty sure that the carpet company isn't obligated to clean the rooms. At the very least, this hotel needs to shampoo the carpets and hire an effective housekeeping staff. It has great potential given it's location, but I don't think that the accomodations will attract the kind of clientele that will let it thrive. On a sidenote, Hotwire.com made it right with me.
