The Daytona Beach Boardwalk is about only about 2 to 4 blocks long. It's attractions have come and gone over the years that included a ferris wheel, some virtual reality games and gyroscopes, bungee jumping, to the ever popular space needle and skyride down the pier. It is not a traditional boardwalk in the sense that there are no "boards" it is a concrete structure.
Although small it does have all kinds of arcades, carnival type foods, a couple hotels/condos, and bars.
If you're lookin' for some good pizza try Walkin' Charlie's at the south end and if you want a good frozen drink, Fat Tuesdays has all kinds of frozen concoctions to wet your whistle.
While I live only 30 miles away from this boardwalk and I should be more proud that I live so close to one this one pales in comparison to some of the boardwalks I've been to. Ocean City, Marylands comes to mind as a great traditional (real boards) boardwalk while at the same time daytona's is definately better than atlantic citys bw.
While they are trying to revitalize the area the boardwalk is still saddled with the occasional drug dealers and prostitutes. There was one period of time where I could not go without being acosted at least 3 times by people wanting to sell me drugs. that thank goodness has changed some.
Overall give the boardwalk a visit but if you have teen aged children keep an eye on them and if you have small children don't let them out of your sight for a minute.
