“Wonderful amenities and view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

This resort was a nice surprise. While it isn't a large resort to be sure, approximately 70 rooms in all, with a mix of one and two bedrooms, ALL rooms faced the beach. They did offer a variety of activities during the week, however, we came during October, the start of their off season so the bingo and phase 10 tournaments as well as the othr activities were sparsely attended. To their credit, if there was interest, they provided the activity. We did enjoy the ice cream served every afternoon. The check-in was handled smoothly with the staff being more than helpful making the process both quick and error free. The rooms, we had a single, were small, but very well decorated and had a great view of the ocean. The kitchen was well supplied with plates, cups, flatware, etc. The bed was excellent. It was well supplied with plenty of sheets and pillows and extra blankets. The elevators were sufficient with two available. The location of the resort along Daytona Beach was well placed and easy to get to restaurants and other activities in the town. Overall an excellent resort and stay.

We stayed here the week of October 19-26, 2013. It is a 2013 Gold Crown Resort. The complex was extremely clean and the staff very helpful. Each morning there was a flurry of activity to clean the premises and thios continued throughout the day. It is directly on the beach and the views were breathtaking.

Our 2nd year to stay at Tropic Shores Resort! We absolutely love it here. Next year we will be back! The place was clean, and well taken care of. The staff goes out of their way for you! Close enough to Daytona Beach but far enough away from traffic. Stores and restaurants close by,

Room Tip: All rooms face the beach, so there is no bad room!

I just came home from a week long stay at tropic shores. My family and I loved it. We had a two bedroom, which included two balconies that overlooked the ocean. The bedroom balcony had a side view of the ocean as well as Atlantic Ave. The view was incredible, I looked forward to sitting on the balcony having my morning coffee while the sun came up. My husband LOVED IT! the room was very clean and provided enough space for my family of four. We went deep sea fishing while we were there and had a ball. My youngest caught 2 small sharks!. Our housekeeper( her name was Marybeth) was soooo sweet. We looked forward to seeing her everyday. She was so polite and always had a smile on, she did an exceptional job cleaning our room. The staff at the canopy (where you get chairs) could of been a bit more polite, they seemed a bit annoyed each time they had to help us. The front desk staff (Jessica) was also very helpful. One disappointment was the pastry shop across the street, We had read such great reviews and we looked forward to tasting the pastries. We bought four small (and i mean small) cannoli's and they were horrible! We are from New York City and we have some of the best pastries shop's so maybe its not fair for us to compare. However besides them tasting like they were stale, they cost almost 8 bucks for such a small pastry. Anyway, with that being said, we did enjoy Mai Tai which is located down Atlantic avenue. We went during happy hour and had some great drinks and appetizers as well. We also went to Joe's crab shack as well as many other restaurants, Bahama Breeze was also incredible. Our overall stay at Tropic Shores was fantastic. I look forward to going again. I will upload pic's as soon as I get a chance.

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best views!!

The people here are so great. They take your chairs out to the beach for you and they drill a hole for the umbrella. They are extremely kid friendly as well. The boogie boards are real boogie boards. There is a great surf shop with lessons right across the street. This is the quiet and nice part of Daytona Beach -- much more family friendly than further north. Even the water seems better here.

This was a traded timeshare adventure. This choice made us very happy. There are no bad rooms. They all have full views of the ocean with balconies. All the staff and front desk clerks just could not do enough for you. Good parking for your car and no extra fee. Our kitchen was fully equipped and of course the bed was so comfortable. Will be back.
