The Daytona Beach Hilton sits right on the beach in the heart of this ocean town. It appears to be the nicest hotel on the beach and is next to the pier where vehicles are not allowed on the sand.
The hotel is upscale throughout with a large lobby, a spa, two pools, a couple of restaurants and bars including a high-end steakhouse, mostly oceanfront rooms and the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean at their doorsteps.
The room was not very big but comfortable with oceanfront views and sliding glass doors that open to the beach (except not a balcony). Small bathroom with an extra sink outside and comfortable beds (queens in the two-bed rooms).
The workout room had nice new machines (according to my wife) and the main pool was a combo indoor / outdoor setup but not very big or elaborate. Beach chairs & umbrellas are provided by an outside company and cost $25 per day.
The eateries included a standard hotel restaurant called Doc Bale’s Grill (a disappointing breakfast buffet which was not very clean and items were slow to be replenished), a coffee shop, a sports bar & restaurant, a food court, a poolside bar, an outdoor bar on the deck and best of all – a top notch steakhouse called Hyde Park. The food was terrific, service superb, great ambiance and it rivals the Ruth’s Chris and such.
In addition, next door is the Ocean Walk shops which features a bunch of bars and casual eateries. Lots of fun on Saturday night and enjoyed good music.
Service throughout the hotel was great.
This is a great family vacation destination. Only complaints are the smaller rooms and the inadequate pool area. But the hotel is the best we seen in Daytona Beach.
