The Daytona Beach Hilton sits right on the beach in the heart of this ocean town. It appears to be the nicest hotel on the beach and is next to the pier where vehicles are not allowed on the sand.

The hotel is upscale throughout with a large lobby, a spa, two pools, a couple of restaurants and bars including a high-end steakhouse, mostly oceanfront rooms and the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean at their doorsteps.

The room was not very big but comfortable with oceanfront views and sliding glass doors that open to the beach (except not a balcony). Small bathroom with an extra sink outside and comfortable beds (queens in the two-bed rooms).

The workout room had nice new machines (according to my wife) and the main pool was a combo indoor / outdoor setup but not very big or elaborate. Beach chairs & umbrellas are provided by an outside company and cost $25 per day.

The eateries included a standard hotel restaurant called Doc Bale’s Grill (a disappointing breakfast buffet which was not very clean and items were slow to be replenished), a coffee shop, a sports bar & restaurant, a food court, a poolside bar, an outdoor bar on the deck and best of all – a top notch steakhouse called Hyde Park. The food was terrific, service superb, great ambiance and it rivals the Ruth’s Chris and such.

In addition, next door is the Ocean Walk shops which features a bunch of bars and casual eateries. Lots of fun on Saturday night and enjoyed good music.

Service throughout the hotel was great.

This is a great family vacation destination. Only complaints are the smaller rooms and the inadequate pool area. But the hotel is the best we seen in Daytona Beach.

An older, roughly three and a half star sprawling property located directly on the Atlantic Ocean. This strikingly designed hotel is nestled between the boardwalk and the newly built "Ocean Walk" center, which is a hub of restaurants, shops, bars, and a movie theater. Go-karts and family-friendly games are found just across the street, along with the Ocean Center conference center. Most of Daytona's most famed restaurants and attractions are within minutes of the hotel.

The lobby and public space of this hotel are about as swank as you will get in Daytona Beach. You'll see your share of marble, brass, mirrors, and art as you roam around the hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed, but somewhat refined. All the staples of a fine hotel can be found: spa, fitness center, pools and whirlpools, a variety of restaurants and bars, gift shop, business center, and activity center for children.

The guest rooms are located in one of two towers: the south and the north. Request a room in the north tower; they are newer and better appointed than those in the older south tower. The north tower bathrooms are especially better and more spacious than those in the south tower. Note: Not all rooms in the north tower are oceanfront, unlike the south tower.

All guest rooms feature Florida-tropic decor with themed Daytona art prints in the bathroom. French balconies afford breathtaking views of the ocean (or Ocean center). Cable television offers a limited selection of mostly news-related programming (this is primarily a conference hotel) and also offers two channels specifically dedicated to Daytona Beach tourism and the hotel amenities. In-room coffee and tea-makers, irons and ironing boards, hairdryers and bottled waters are available (the water is NOT free). The toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower cap, mouthwash, body soap, and hand soap) are some of the finest I've seen. And for the health conscious, there is actually a scale in the bathroom!

In the south tower, you have easy access to most of the hotel's recreational amenities. However, you also have to contend with older bathrooms (funny odors, running toilets), and worn furnishings (closet door kept coming unhinged, painting was faded, etc.)

In the north tower, you are closer to the Ocean Walk Village, but further from the rest of the hotel amenities (spa, outdoor pool area, gift shops, business center, etc.). However, you will most likely have a better, newer room.

I stayed in this hotel for a conference, and my room was paid for. However, I asked for the rate of my oceanfront king bed room and was quoted a rate of $185 plus tax per night. Not that bad for a Hilton experience at the beach.

I'll add to the other posters comments when I stress that its a good idea to do most of your dining and entertaining away from this place: they nickel and dime you to death. And you can NEVER be too cautious about the rough characters on Daytona Beach. I wouldn't venture past the boardwalk or Ocean Walk village alone, ever. The Hilton does a fine job about safeguarding the activities and amentiies on their own property, so you can feel safe when lounging around the hotel. Watch out for jellyfish!!

We stayed at this property June 20-23rd, 2008. We paid $175 per night and Valet was $15 per day, At the time of check in we had already been on vacation for just over 2 weeks, staying at various places.

We checked in very early, at 1130am. It was great that we could be accomodated since we had just made the reservation 3 hours prior. We stayed in a Oceanfront room. Let's just say "room" should be highlighted. Our room was small and a bit dated but seemed to be clean (no bugs). The furniture had nicks and scratches everywhere; I'm sure yearly Spring Breakers don't help. The bed was somewhat comfortable. What this property calls a balcony, is nothing more than 8 inches deep. The view is wonderful though. This hotel is huge. 2 Towers total, one South (the older of the 2), and the North Tower (the newer of the 2).
In my opinion the rooms could use some attention to the details and maybe they could clean the huge sliding glass windows once in awhile.

The main dining room, Doc Bale's, is centrally located and is where the "all you can eat buffets are". Breakfast is about $19 (includes coffee, juices, omlettes, fruits and meats etc). On the weekends the have Seafood buffet for about $40, my husband thought it was worht it and looked great.

We contemplated going back to the Plaza resort, where we'd stayed 1 1/2 weeks prior, but wanted to try this Hilton out.
At the Plaza we had a Oceanview Suite (vs. Oceanfront room at the Hilton) and the price difference was about $30 per night. At the Plaza we had a sitting room area, kitchenette and a balcony that could accomodate 4 people easily AND they didn't have a parking fee.

“very enjoyable”

Hilton Daytona Beach / Ocean Walk Village

stayed at the resort june 20 and 21st. 1 bedroom suite, north tower. I agree with others that Outstanding lodging is hard to find in this area; the Hilton is probably the best to be found here. The ocean walk timeshares might be the place I stay at next here as I took a tour of them and they seem nice and clean.

I had an oceanfront room , which did have a very lovely view of the ocean and beach. On Saturday nights, fireworks are launched from the pier that is located to the south of the Hilton. I was able to watch the display from my room. As others have indicated, the "balconies" are not balconies. You can slide open the doors and lean on a railing. There aren't enough inches to actually step out of the doors.

The room itself was fine--not luxorious but fine. I had a small, uncomfortable beat up loveseat; coffee table; desk with chair; two queen size bed with nightstands; and 2 armoire that housed older tvs and included 3 dresser drawers. The bed was amazingly comfortable and provided a good night's sleep.

The bathroom includes a separate sink and vanity in dressing area, with additional sink in actual bathroom. The sinks had new countertops, but the rest of the bathroom was in need of an update.

Rooms are quiet and hallway noise is muted.

In room internet access is $10 a day (although free WI-FI is available in the lobby). Parking also incurs a fee ($8 a day for self-park in a lot that is about one block away).

The majority of staff were very friendly. the restuarent hydee park in the tower is amazing. make sure you check that out.

rooms could be bigger with nice balcony.paid $295 a night plus taxes

One word of caution: the Hilton is located right on the beach, but it is not a private beach. Many unsavory characters hang out in Daytona Beach, and these same characters lurk around the Hilton looking for vulnerable tourists. DON'T leave personal belongings on the beach while you go for a swim, and always be aware of your surroundings (whether night or day) while walking around.

This is my second review on the Daytona Beach Hilton, and not a lot has changed in a year. Outstanding lodging is hard to find in this area; unfortunately, the Hilton is probably the best to be found here.

I had an oceanfront room this time, which did have a very lovely view of the ocean and beach.

I had a small, rather beat up loveseat; coffee table; desk with chair; king size bed with nightstands; and armoire that housed older tv and included 3 dresser drawers.

The majority of staff were friendly enough. None were outstanding enough to make a big impression, but none were so terrible to make an impression either.

I had several modest complaints about my visit:
1. Excessive mildew coated the interior of the armoire. I could wipe it with a tissue and blacken the tissue with one swipe.
2. Mildew also stained the window sheers.
3. There were several days that housekeeping didn't replace toiletries, washclothes, or bath mats. Two other days, housekeeping didn't bother to empty rather full trash cans in the room nor did they take away and replace dirty glasses. By the appearance of the bathroom tile and carpeting in room, there were many days that housekeeping didn't vacuum either.
4. During my entire stay (one week), my room was never supplied with pen or paper.

Complaints may seem trivial, but the rates charged by this property warrant much better service and attention to detail.
