“Beautiful hotel, beautiful view, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Thanks daytona hilton, for the great service, view, it was a pleasure staying there. The location is great. I can't tell you enough how nice it is to see smiling faces at work. There are so many places, the employees act like it's a chore to be there. Not so at your place. The service of your people was great.

I will say not all sevice was great. The steakhouse, attached to your hotel was very lacking in service. We went in to eat, about 6:00 pm. Hardly anyone their yet, and was seated, we waited 15 minutes and no one even even made eye contact with us let alone said they would be with us shortly. For those kind of prices, it was very lacking service. My grandson and I walked out.

We ate at your seafood buffet, it was great. I glad they didn't acknowledge us.

Thank you for such kind feedback, it was our pleasure to welcome you for a stay at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort! We’re delighted our staff impressed you with their friendly and attentive service and that you got to enjoy the expansive ocean views we are known for. It is truly disheartening, however, to read about your experience at one of our on-site restaurants and sincerely apologize for any missed opportunities to deliver stellar service. We will be certain to pass your comments on to our entire dining team. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We hope to welcome you back again for another great stay soon.

We usually stay at less expensive hotels, but we stayed here for a work-related conference. The room was about average - 2 queen beds, desk, small chair, coffee maker, flat panel TV, safe. Having no refrigerator was incredibly inconvenient, so eating out every meal got old quickly. The only upper tier amenity was bathrobes, which we didn't use. There were tiny, tiny ants on our bathroom wall, so we had to rinse the coffee maker just before using it each time. Having lived in Florida, I know that it's rare not to have ants somewhere.

Breakfast buffet was $19 per person! Self-park a block-and-a-half away was $6-7 per night. Valet parking was $20!

The shuffleboard courts were excellent!! The pools were small for a hotel that size but rarely used. Towels provided by the hotel were nice. Glad we weren't in the rooms on the far side of the south tower that had to see and listen to the slingshot all day and into the night.

Housekeeping staff were excellent! They provided extra decaf coffee packs and creamer upon request. They worked quickly, were thorough, and were very nice!

The only beach umbrella/chair option was from a non-hotel-related service for $30 per day. The lunch truck stayed close, and other restaurants within walking distance were convenient.

The desk allowed an early checkout without charge when a need arose for us to depart a day early.

While we were there, the local newspaper reported the hotel would be going up for foreclosure auction the following week. Not sure what changes that will bring.

Sugar sand beaches, lots of activities from beach rentals, wide smooth sand, volleyball, live music, pier, carnival, and an indoor/outdoor pool, 2 hot tubs, shopping and restaurants all nearby. Fantastic night life for all ages. Our room had a beach, carnival, pier and pool view, but alas no fridge or microwave.

We think your review title says it all! It is wonderful that you enjoyed our property’s location, just steps from the sand packed beaches of Daytona as well as the boardwalk, pier and more! We love that you got to take advantage of our hotel pools and the live entertainment we offer. We want to share that compact refrigerators can be placed in guest rooms upon request, for a small charge. Thank you, we hope to welcome you back to the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort soon.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

We stayed at the Hilton Daytona Beach in July 2013 and it was average but nothing more. The room was fine but the service was uneven. We had some issues with our bill and the front desk staff was slow to respond and help. The food in the hotel restaurants was only fair and the service poor. We waited forever to get refills on drinks. The best meal we had was at the sports bar where the food was pretty good and the service quite good. For the price of a room, we were not terribly impressed. Also, the area near the convention center which is directly across the street is not that great. There are few restaurants within walking distance. The parts of Hwy A1A going either direction was much nicer.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

My husband and I had a business conference at this hotel and took our two young children (4 months old and 3 years old) and our in-laws along with us. The valet personnel who greeted us were very friendly and helped unload our luggage while I went to the front desk to check in. The woman who was working at the check-in desk lacked any sort of personality. We had called several days prior to check-in to reserve a mini-fridge for our room and were assured there would be one available when we checked in. Well, there wasn't. Fortunately, we were able to get one the next day, but I had to keep the baby's formula and my son's Lactaid milk on ice all night. The rooms were average, but admittedly I am a hotel snob. The view was fantastic but there was no balcony. We had two queen size beds which were average in terms of comfort. There were two sinks, one inside the bathroom and one just outside the bathroom. When we arrived, however, there was no hand soap so we called housekeeping and they brought us a single bar of soap. For two sinks. Oh well. The housekeeping staff left us the rest of the toiletries the following day. Which leads me to my next issue which was having to make multiple calls just to have the housekeeping staff come make up our rooms. The shower had poor water pressure and it took several minutes to get any hot water. On the second night of our stay the battery in the smoke detector died so it made a high-pitched beeping noise every few minutes, starting at 4 a.m.

Pros:
Location: It's right on the beach and within easy walking distance of shops/restaurants/bars.
View: Definitely request the oceanview room. That was about the only redeeming quality of our stay here.

Cons:
Pool is nothing spectacular, just seemed very dated.
Rooms seem like they are in need of some updates. Specifically, the furniture is a bit eclectic (everything is mismatched), the showers could use better water pressure, beds could be a bit more comfortable, a mini-fridge in every room (you're at the beach for crying out loud...it would be nice to have a cold drink waiting for you when you got back to your room).

The bottom line is this is probably one of the nicer hotels on the beach in Daytona Beach, which doesn't say much for the other hotels. I would not return here for a beach vacation because there are much nicer beaches and accommodations elsewhere in Florida.

All guest feedback, positive or otherwise is important to us, so we thank you for sharing your comments. While we truly appreciate reading the highlights of your stay like our beachfront location and views of the Atlantic, it is certainly disappointing to learn that your stay was not as we would hope for our guests. Please accept our sincere apologies if you experienced anything less than our very best service and for any inconveniences you endured. Your feedback will be shared with our team so that we may make any improvements we can to the experience we offer. Thank you, we hope you’ll reconsider a future visit to Daytona.

My wife and I recently returned from Daytona Beach and we had a great time, she was there on business and we stayed at Hilton oceanfront, the hotel is located right on the Atlantic, there is a small amusement park in front of hotel, the ride is called the slingshot and we watched it, and thought it was cool, their were fireworks on the pier and we had a great view from our room, the hotel is also located within 100 yards of Oceanwalk, their is a dunkin donuts, dominos pizza and burger king across the street, I ate at Doc Bales Grill in the hotel, the 12.95 buffet was very good and also had dinner at Legends in the hotel, little pricey for what we had.
The hotel is in a good location, walk out back of hotel and there is the beach, couple of pools and it has a spa which I didn't use and a fitness center. The hotel is in need of a few updates/upgrades, it has flat TV, granite counters in bathrooms, but needs new carpets, new furniture, all in all it is a nice hotel. It is about 5 to 7 miles from airport, make sure if you are taking a taxi or shuttle to hotel, get a set price from driver because some of other people on the trip were overcharged, about the hotel, would recommend it to anyone, because of location

The hotel was excellent. The relationship to the beach allowed a great view of the sunrise in the mornings. While I was there on business and didn't use many of the facilities, this is a hotel I would like to bring my wife back to.
