“Asked to pay extra money for a single bed room.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel. When we checked in at the front desk, the concierge asked was it only us and we said "yes" and we were given our keys. When we arrived at our room, there were double beds. I called the front desk and asked for a single bed room and was told for $40 more a night we can stay in one. I was appauled! The concierge told us that since our rooms were booked through Priceline we were not entitled to a single bed. This incident truly ruined a weekend get away with my husband - I felt like the Flintstones or perhaps Ricky and Lucy from "I Love Lucy."

We appreciate that you chose to stay with us during your two-night getaway to Daytona, however, we deeply regret any confusion regarding your accommodations. Guests, regardless of how they book their stay, specify a preferred room type when booking that is based on availability at check-in. We regret that we were unable to fulfill your request for a room with one bed without upgrading to the next room level as it most certainly was not our intention to do anything that would detract from your stay. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly should you wish to further discuss your stay.

On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially the valet parking folks, and the room was very clean. On the minus side, considering the room was almost $200, there was no balcony (although the sliding glass doors did open), the room was very small, there was no fridge, no microwave (because there are restaurants downstairs and there is room service so you can spend more money), and if you do want to park your own car, it's still $12.00 and it's across the street and down the block. Also, it costs $10 to log on to the Internet. Wow.... I have stayed at other hotels within a couple of miles of this Hilton for about half, parked my own car (which is my preference), had free Internet, a fridge, a microwave, and a balcony right on the ocean that is a true balcony where I could sit on a chair with a cup of coffee and watch the water.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the ferris wheel - - - or you'll have flashing lights and screaming if...

My husband and I spent one night in this hotel. We kept the window open all night and could hear the ocean. My husband went to the beach for sunrise.
The room was clean and spacious. The service was excellent. The beds were a little too soft for my taste, but otherwise an excellent stay.

Decent hotel but not for the price. Way to expensive for this hotel and their valet parking is $19.00 per night and self parking was $12. Absolutely ridiculous

Make sure you put on your do not disturb sigh or housekeeping will be beating on your door early. Although you can hear them down the hall beating on other doors.

While we’re glad you found our hotel pleasant we do regret if our parking fees caused you any issue, our website is a great resource for this type of information as it offers a comprehensive look at our resort. Located on the sand-packed beaches of Daytona, our resort is in a no-traffic area where parking is at a premium. To accommodate our guests we offer both parking options at rates comparable to others throughout the area. A number of our packages include amenities such as parking, so we invite you to check our special rates before booking. Thank you for your review, we hope you’ll return for a future stay with us.

It was good to have the beach view and to be well located in the city!

But... I arrived at night and I didn't see some hair in the floor of the room. My wife came later because she was traveling with our kids (2yo and 5 months). I noticed some hair in the toilet seat, but next day when my 2yo girl was walking without shoes in the room, some black straight hair stuck in the foot of my daughter and when she walked into the white tiles bathroom I saw all of that and felt that I was in a dirty place.... even the hotel being nice.

Taking that part out, I enjoyed my stay.

We are glad to read that you enjoyed your stay as well as our beachfront location and ocean views, however, we are certainly disappointed if any aspect of your accommodations were amiss. The cleanliness of our guest rooms are a top priority for our housekeeping team, who will further investigate your review to ensure each room is at its very best for our valued guests. Thank you for providing your feedback, we hope to welcome you and your family again soon.

We were here for the State Cheer competition this weekend. Rooms were nice, although beds could have been a little more comfortable. Very clean. Best part is the location. Ocean front and directly across from the convention center. Made running back and forth very easy. Also major KUDOs to the Spa staff - my daughter had on gel polish that had to come off before competition but all she had was non acetone remover. We made an emergency run to the spa and they had it off lickty split and didn't even charge me.

We are very disappointed in this Hilton. The first room we were put in was very outdated. The bedding had holes in it, dust was built up behind the end table by the bed, the walls in the bathroom were dirty, and we had a spider in our room. We requested a new room and we were promptly put in a new room facing the ocean. We were very pleased with the customer service, however, the new room wasn't much better. The bathroom had been updated, but that was about it. We had some big stains on our ceiling and the furniture and bedding could use some updating. We expected a lot more from this Hilton. It was definitely not worth the money that we paid for our stay here.

While we’re glad to read that you experienced helpful service, we couldn’t be more disheartened to learn of your disappointment. We sincerely regret that your recent stay did not exceed your expectations. It is our hope to provide guests with comfortable accommodations and top-notch service during their stay and it is clear we did not do so in your case. Currently we are upgrading each of our guest rooms to ensure we deliver some of the best accommodations in Daytona Beach. We hope you’ll consider a future stay with us, thank you.
