If you are a Nascar fan and are planning on being in the area, you have to visit. Do the track tour and the IMAX while you are there. The banking on the track must be seen to be believed and the IMAX is fantastic. Be sure and check out the most recent 500 winner's race car on display!

I had wanted to see this attraction for some time, having heard it touted by NASCAR race commentators. After paying $19.00 + tax for the "senior discount" ticket, I expected something worthwhile.
What I found was a rather small display of mild interest, like an old race car which turned out to be a replica, a tiny theater with a race film playing that I had already seen on the Speed Channel, two guys trying to entice customers into playing "pit crew", and a display of a Jeff Gordon car (big whoop). There were some racecar simulators (for an extra fee) --disgraceful!! There was an Imax presentation, but it wasn't going to start for another 25 minutes, and there was nothing there to occupy my time until then, as I don't like video games.
Campbell's Bluebird V WAS there, along with Jimmy Johnson's 500 winning car -- the only worthwhile things in the whole place.
After 15 minutes of this, I managed to find an exit -(I expected a "This way to the Egress" sign a/la Barnum), or course, the only exit was through the gift shop maze. Since they didn't sell an "I got ripped off at Daytona USA" tee shirt, I didn't buy anything!!

We went to Daytona USA in June 2006 and absolutely loved it! My husband took a ride in one of the cars at 165 mph for 3 laps....well worth the money! We enjoyed the IMAX 3-D movie, interactive games, track tour (this was a 30 minute behind the scenes tour).

It was a little expensive to get in, but when you think about it, its worth it, you get to see an IMAX movie, you get the track tour and you get to be in the museum as long as you want. I really did not want to waste the time to see the movie, but my Husband really wanted to see it, so we went, and I am glad I did. Its a little loud, but its good. Make sure you get there early to get a good seat. We did not and we were pretty close to the screen. The track tour was unbelievable. It was so great! I loved being out on the track...it sure gives you a different view of the track. They take you around and show you lots of things there, it last about 30 min. Very very much worth the time. They let you get out and take pics in victory lane, the show you the pit stalls, everything. We really had a great time. 1 thing I did not like...when you are leaving walking out to you car, do not, I repeat do not make eye contact with the people in the booth, they will try everything to try and sell you ''free'' tickets to something. I kept walking away and they finally got my husbands attention and after a few minutes of badgering him, he finally walked away and they were yelling at us, we will give you $1000 to listen to us, and the next person was like $2000. Just rubbed me the wrong way, who wants to waste time on there vacation to be hassled buy pushy sales people. Just keep walking like you did not even hear them! Daytona USA is a great 1/2 day attraction.
