“Would not go back!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Just stayed at this hotel and checked out April 29, 2013. Stayed in Bldg. 30, Room 810. Nice and spacious but the carpets were disgusting!!! Stains everywhere. And the decor needs major upgrading. Beds were aweful as well, hard as a rock. Check in was suppose to be at 4pm, we had to wait over an hour for them to see if our room was ready. They called housekeeping several times to check and no one got back to them. Finally someone on the front desk went to check for themselves. It was 5:15pm before we got in. Would not recommend this place!

This guest is correct waiting until 5:15pm to check in is not ok and we are addressing that issue. As each condominium is individually owned, we are constantly asking owners to upgrade their units. Many on the property have been upgraded and I am sorry this guest did not receive one and did not overall enjoy their experience on the property.

I have sent a private note to this guest as well to try to win back their confidence in Bahama Bay

We have stayed here three times...April 2010, 2011 and 2013. Until this past year our visits have been fabulous. I love the tropical feel of the property, the smaller buildings as opposed to a great big apartment complex type building, the choice of different pools at different locations. Bahama Bay is perfectly located close to shops, restaurants and is very easy to get to Disney and Universal. If I could actually purchase a unit here I would!! The only hiccup we have encountered is the disinterest in the desk staff. We had an issue with the Wifi in our unit and although we brought it to the attention of the staff and management at the front desk nothing was done about it. They sounded as though this was a very rare occurance when in fact many, many other guests were saying the same thing. If there was a problem with Internet access in various units that's fine, be up front about it. Do not dismiss your customers issues or think that they have not talked to other guests. If someone working at the desk does not know the answer to a question...find out.

Myself and my fiancee stayed here from April 18-30. Check in was very easy and quick, the surrounding landscape is really nice, lovely pools and the tradewinds restaurant had really good food and good service from the waiter.
Now on to some of the negatives that will prevent me from coming back.

When we arrived the toilet seat had urine stains, the carpets are not very clean, also the side of the fridge has stains all over it. We didn't notice the stains on the fridge until our last evening at the resort, we were disgusted at How this wasn't cleaned. Also the stains were easily removed when I used a paper towel, so the cleaners have no excuse. Also the couch and chair has an unpleasant smell. My fiancee also complained about the tub, rust stains in the tub.

We pretty much only slept at the resort, we were gone in the mornings and usualy never returned unil later in the evening, so I didn't feel the need to complain. I guess the main reason I didn't complain was because I only paid $69 night and said to myself you get what you paid for.

TVs were old tubes and the beds and pillows could use an upgrade.

My biggest complaint is the cleanliness. If my room had to be fresh and clean I would have an entirely different review, unfortunately I was disappointed with the cleanliness of this room.

I have to end this review by saying this resort could be something special if they work on the things noted above.

Room 507, bldg. 33 in size is a great room, carpet seemed cleaned, but the clunky mattresses and thinned out pillows in the master bedroom need to go. Dirty bedspreads and blankets didn't help. The pull out bed was damaged and ready to be retired. The microwave over the stove doesn't work and the cheap replacement on the counter top had no glass plate and no rotating wheel. Luckily our stay was for only two days but definitely a disappointment. The hotel is about 35-40 minutes to Sea World. The resort is remote from the main highway down a long dark drive for over 10 minutes. Most of the grounds surrounding the resort are vacant or under construction. There's no elevators to second or third floor so dragging up suitcases and three young children up and down was a painful and exhausting experience. Overall it is time to renovate, get rid of the old furniture, worn out mattresses, grimy pillows, old TVs and upgrade from basic cable..,

This guest is right we are working with our owners everyday to keep improving their units. We are a little farther from Sea World but with 70 acres of beautiful landscaping, 4 pools, 6 hot tubs, tennis, basketball, volleyball, beach area, restaurant and many more great attributes to the property it is a great place to stay and see the Theme Parks but at the same time get away and have some quiet vacation time too.

We stayed for 2 weeks over Easter. We did ask for an upgraded condo and as we booked 18 months in advance thought we would get updated room but we did not. Room was average but carpets were FILTHY and kitchen worktops had kettle burn marks so not the best and we did have strip and wash beds as not clean . Having said this we had a lovely stay and the pool areas were lovely and it was perfect distance from Disney to make it a chilled holiday too. We would recommend the Bahama Bay and we may go back but I think an Updated room is a must, so request one!!! Florida is most amazing holiday and the customer care is amazing you cannot fault anything!!

Room Tip: Ask for an updated room

We traveled to Florida during Easter holidays, I had orginally booked a private villa but this fell through due to the owners selling!!! and a work college recommended Bahama Bay. First impressions were excellent we booked a 3 bed condo, rooms were very spacious and clean, pool areas and grounds were also well kept and staff very friendly. Location requires a car but short drive of 5 mins and your well within reach of supermarkets etc... Like one of the other reviews i would recommend a third floor condo we stayed on the second floor and could here everything above and below us. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times which was very nice and reasonably priced, nice walks as well around the lakes. Only thing i would say was our apartment could have been updated the furniture had seen better days but that's just me being picky. Great valve for money you will not be disappointed....

We spent 2 weeks here in March/April during the easter break, our first week the resort was very busy, it seemed an American Baseball team were staying and at times completely took over the Tradewinds Pool area and with the bar open all day they got very loud!, so we moved to the pool by the clubhouse which was much quieter as the bar there (Mambos) was only open on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday which seemed strange as it was a busy time and had it been open we would have eaten and bought drinks there, the pool area was kept clean, the hot tubs however were dirty and scummy and could do with a real good clean which we did point out to reception but they weren't cleaned whilst we were still there. Our apartment which we booked privately was stunning it was a Grand Bahama 3 bedroomed penthouse in building 21 overlooking the lake, it was spotless on arrival. We did have any issue with the safe and icemaker but phoned Reception and within 2 minutes maintenance were at our door and fixed it. You are a little bit out of the way, but we liked this as the resort was so peacefull, just what you need after a full day at the parks!!, you do however need a car staying here but within 5 minutes drive you are on the 192 where you find all you need, supermarkets, restaurants etc. Only took us 10 minutes to get to the exit to Disney and about 30 mins to Universal Studios. Would definetly return to Bahama Bay when we next visit Florida.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and book the Grand Bahama accommodation 3 bedroomed condo on the top floor its well wo...
