“Overall Good Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

This is a very nice, very big hotel. The rooms are typical Omni. They were clean and well appointed although I didn't think the beds were very comfortable. We had connecting rooms with the two teenagers in one and the parents in the other. That worked out very well for us. The front desk staff was friendly and accomodating throughout our stay. The grounds are nice and the pool area is inviting. They did not execute well on the Select Guest program benefits but after I raised it with them they did a better job. We had two sit down meals at the hotel. Dinner the first night in the sports bar. The food was okay, not great. The service was fine. But the breakfast on our last morning downstairs was a disaster. The restaurant was only 2/3rds full but there was at least 30-45 minute wait to get seated. There is a breakfast buffet which is expensive and not much different than what you get for free at other hotels. There were clearly not enough servers and ours bordered on incompetent. We asked for menus and he basically told us that they couldn't accomodate us so we ended up with the buffet. The food there was fine but it's basically self serve for $20/person. The other mornings we went to the little coffee shop. The first morning worked well but every visit after that it was clear that they, too, were understaffed. The line would wind outside the shop and it clearly wasn't set up to accomodate the number of guests in the hotel. The location worked out pretty well for us but it is somewhat remote from the parks. The self park is a bit of a pain but does save you a bit of money. All in all it was a good stay for us. Of course, they should realize that their service will be measured against Disney and Disney sets the bar very high. They just need to fix a few logistical issues and I think it would be a great place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the golf course and pool

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. We wanted to share that our experience was great. The room we originally got was not ready and for the incovenience we were given a $50 food credit. The hotel did not have to do this as the next room that we were given was immediately ready. We used the credit for the breakfast buffet which was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very nice and clean. Too bad it was very cold and we were not able to enjoy the lazy river. If they have the great rate that we go this time around in the summer we wil definitely come back. Thank you for a great hotel experience. We were all moms with our kiddies as we took them for a day to Lego Land. Even though it was a little bit of a drive to the park the hotel experience made it worth the while.

We would love to stay all the time!! My husband was there for work and I got to come along so this trip was multi purpose!!

As for business, everything was handled great, location and venues were outstanding!

As for vacation, the resort was great. The pools were great! I spent part of my day by the family pool and part of my day by the adult pool. Both were great, well cared for and had people working and offering drink and food service. The views of the golf course were great.

Restaurants were great, also room service was good (a bit overpriced maybe) but still good!

A pricey stay, however worth it if you're really wanting to enjoy beautiful scenery and some awesome relaxation time!

Not a bad drive to the airport either!

I just returned from our companies annual conference that we held at the Omni, and I have to say this hotel knows its stuff when it comes to hosting conferences. They have just opened a brand new conference building, and it handled our tech conference without a hitch. The service provided to our company was top notch, the staff was excellent and bent over to fulfill all of our requests. I would highly recommend the hotel if you are looking for a spot to have a conference. The hotel is just far enough out of Orlando that you have your clients attention without fearing they will bail to the parks.

The restaurants and amenities at the hotel were great, and played well for our guests. The hotel has two 18 hole courses, that provide golfers all the challenges they would want, besides being the headquarters for the David Leadbetters school of golf. (http://www.davidleadbetter.com/), there is also an executive par 3 course that is lighted for night fun. We had an outing with the clients on this little course and had a lot of fun. For the relaxing fare, there are two pools, and a lazy river that are serviced by Crocs restaurant. I would recommend reserving one of the cabanas, and indulging in a Miami Vice drink with the shot. Davids Bar is great for relaxing at night, the food is good, but the free pool tables was a hit with our clients, and they stay open late / early into the morning.

PS, they do have a Starbucks on property.. Highly important for conferences ;)

Overall I would say that we had an excellent experience with this hotel, and I would have no issue returning again next year.

Room Tip: The rooms are nice, if you want additional amenities, try out the villas.

We had a great time just hanging out at the pool with our 2 boys. They offer great rates and promo. My biggest complaint would be paying for parking, which is minor anyways since most hotels charge that anyways. Highly recommended.

Went overnight - normally would not afford such an expensive hotel but took my friends kids and my kids for a quick overnight from Tampa. Had very very beautiful pools (lazy river was great and heated) and lobby. The villa itself was awesome for two families - great to be able to spread out with all the kids and had 4 flat screens enough for all kids to spread out after a long day of running around the resort. However only hitch was I was told by a reservationist on the phone that I could get a late checkout from villa since we were coming for one night plus the reservationist said it was cheaper to split the villa than to get two rooms. Went next morning to get breakfast and lunch to keep in the room but was told we needed to checkout by 12 no exceptions. Just spent $50 on groceries - was not too happy. But luckily manager gave us a day room at no charge so we could leave as planned by 5 pm. Property is beautiful. Not a crowded area. Away from crazy Disney Orlando traffic but not too far that its a hassle to get there. Overall great stay.

Room Tip: Villas were like a home away from home. Nice!!

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend for a conference. Really nice conference facilities. Hotel has ample meeting space and the conference room facilities are much larger than you would expect.

Hotel is on nice well maintained grounds with lots of recreational things to do at the hotel - great pools, a lazy river, shops, restaurants, and 2 nice golf courses (The International Course is definitely the better of the two).

My wife took advantage of the spa and thought it was excellent.

It seemed more outside of Orlando than I expected. The town of Celebration, Florida is a couple exits away on highway and has nice restaurants.
