I wrote a review for the Stirling Suites Airport & Cruise Port in Dania back in November 2006. If this is the same hotel i would like to say we found the one night pre cruise stay very pleasant. Lots of shopping nearby, places to eat. A swimming pool that 4 adults enjoyed 11 o'clock at night. A great buffet breakfast. The hotel was under renovations but this was no problem & I expect it made for an even better place to stay. Staff were very nice & a shuttle service was available.

There were certainly more positives than negatives about this property. The property is right off I-95 and very close to FLL. The staff was very friendly and offered us cold bottled water at check-in. The hotel was fairly clean upon first inspection, but our room smelled like someone had spilled syrup on the dresser. Speaking of the dresser, it was more like a couple of shelves about 8 inches in depth, making it pretty ineffective for long term use.

The hotel has been recently renovated, but the bathroom still needs help, as the toliet was older and the floors should be upgraded.

Overall not a bad property, good location, friendly staff and a good value.

I had heard a nice thing about this hotel, due to the fact they had converted over to a Marriott product after being an independent brand. Upon checkin, the room type we had asked for totally wrong. When we came back to the front desk, the lady was so rude to us, we couldn't believe it. She actually threw the keys on the counter back to us. We were only there for about 5 minutes, and we knew this hotel was going to be a problem.

The second room was adequate, but was well under any Marriott standards we've ever seen. And this was supposed to be a new hotel. The smell of mold was everywhere, filthy carpets, stained mirrors with traces of makeup, I mean come on.

The absolute worst of all, the place is crawling with roaches. My partner got up in the middle of the night, and there were at least 5 of them in the bathroom. And these were the little ones, which means there are probably thousands more crawling around in that building. It was totally disgusting. Instead of sleeping in and trying out their breakfast, we decided we couldn't take it anymore, got in our car at 4am, and went home.

I have voiced my concerns to Marriott, as well as the Broward County Health Dep't. Please whatever you do, stay away, for your own health and security.

I had a great experience at this hotel. I used the airport shuttle which took about 15-20 minutes to arrive, but understandable after seeing the number of stops at the airport it made. Upon arrival, I was offered free bottled water which was nice - the rooms were new and clean, having two tv's with a new lcd in each room as well as a fridge and microwave. i also used the swimming pool, fitness room, and spa with no complaints - great value! On a second stay here I had arrived early and the staff very generously gave me a room around noon, earlier than the listed check-in time so I was pleased with their service and politeness. Everything met/exceeded expectations for my stay.
