The staff was nice and the hotel seemed very clean. However, the walls were paper thin. I have never been awakened to another room's wake up call until a stay at this hotel. Doors from the guest rooms would slam shut all night long. Don't expect to get a good night's sleep at this hotel. Unfortunately, I stayed here 2 different times in the last week due to the proximity to the airport. The second time I checked in I asked for a room as far away from other guests as possible. I was told that since the hotel was not busy it would not be a problem. The room smelled like a Heinz vinegar plant so they quickly moved us to another room which happened to be conjoining another room with a crying baby. You can hear everyone else's pipes and slamming doors. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that needs to sleep.

I was in the Ft. Lauderdale area for a combined business/personal trip. I have stayed at several of the near-by "resort" hotels and honestly, if you don't mind a quick drive or even walk (about 2 miles), you can be at the beach and in the heart of Ft. Lauderdale quickly and the value of this hotel for price compared to the beach or other business hotels is excellent. The pool area is nice (although it is near a major highway, the noise level was not bad). The rooms were clean, parking is ample (about $10 a day) and the location gives you good access to downtown Ft. Lauderdale, beaches, and sites. The restaurant is OK, typical hotel restaurant and a little pricey but not bad. The crowd tends to be more business oriented, however, I enjoyed staying here leasiurealy also and enjoyed the pool area and work-out room (small, but equipped well).

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night before our honeymoon cruise. We had made a reservation, which apparently doesn't matter since we ended up spending half the night sleeping in the lobby because there were no rooms for us. Funny thing is...there was another family sleeping there with us.

The staff was rude, unfriendly, and not helpful whatsoever. They wouldn't even give us our money back (I had reserved and paid for it online), never mind a free night at another Sheraton.

Finally, at 4:30am, after more than 3 hours of waiting for a room, they "found" a room for us. Unfortunately, they had to send us to 2 dirty rooms before ever getting to a clean one. With all these empty rooms, you would think they could have given us one earlier.

Oh yeah, and all of this happened after waiting 40 minutes at the airport for the hotel shuttle that never showed up, even though we had called for it and been told that it would be there.

I do NOT recommend this hotel.

Stayed here one night pre cruise. Free shuttle from the airport until 1 am. $10 cab ride to the cruise port. Breakfast staff was really friendly - buffet was nothing special and $14. We were in late and out early so we didn't have a chance to check out any other amenities. Above average for cleanliness and convenience - a little pricey but MUCH nicer compared to some really awful places we've stayed at for the same money... we would definitely stay here again.
